Unique armor and clothing | Fallout 3

Fallout 3 (Walkthrough) with DLC's -> Unique armor and clothing

Ranger Combat Armor

WEIGHT: 27, Defense: 39, EFFECTS: +10 Light Weapon, +5 AP, +1 Luck.

Some may disagree with me, but I consider this armor the best, as it offers defense only slightly worse than Power Armor (39 vs. 40), but, unlike the latter, it has no penalties, weighs almost half as much (27 vs. 45), and provides a ton of bonuses. Furthermore, it can be repaired with both regular combat armor and Talon Company mercenary armor, of which there are plenty in the game.

Taking it isn't so much difficult as it is tedious. Reilly herself is at the doctor's in the Carving Shop in the ghoul city of Dungeon, in the Historical Museum . You need to either heal her yourself (requires Medicine 60) or persuade the doctor. She'll ask you to save her group. She'll try to explain how to get to the Statesman Hotel, but don't listen to her; just take the subway near the Historical Museum and get off at Vernon Square Station. It's very close to both Hope Hospital and the hotel. From there, everything is basically simple. You can first go into the hotel lobby and kill the mutants to make it easier to lead the group out (although they seem to respawn when the group leaves).

When you appear at the Ranger Base, Reilly will offer you a choice of this armor or the unique "Eugene" minigun as a reward for this quest. Accept the armor, as the minigun can be easily stolen from Brick right there.

T-51b Power Armor Set

T-51b Power Armor - WEIGHT: 40, Defense: 50, EFFECT: +25 Radiation Resistance

T-51b Power Armor Helmet - WEIGHT: 4, Defense: 10, EFFECT: +8 Radiation Resistance, +1 Charisma

I can't fully recommend this set for one simple reason: I couldn't repair it myself (and merchants, as you know, don't repair it 100% of the time). None of my power armor sets, from the Enclave, the Brotherhood of Steel, or the Outcasts, were suitable for repair. The helmet might be useful: no penalties, better protection, increases charisma, and provides a small amount of radiation resistance. Considering that helmets are damaged much more slowly than armor, it's worth using.

You can start the "Control Shot" quest by talking to Mr. Crowley in the ghoul city of Dungeon , located in the Historical Museum. This quest requires you to obtain three keys. Alternatively, you can simply steal these keys and head directly to Fort Constantine without talking to Crowley (you can still start and turn in the quest later, as the keys won't disappear). I managed to steal all three keys easily and effortlessly, with a stealth skill of 33. I lost a small amount of karma in the process, which is more than replenished with a bottle of clean water given to beggars (but after that, Crowley, having accused me of stealing, will no longer speak to you). Who has the keys (you don't even need to talk to these guys):

Ted Strayer, in Rivet City , hangs out either in the flophouse, the church, or the pub.

Dukov, an alcoholic and womanizer, is in Dukov's place , not far from the Anchorage Memorial.

Dave, in Dave's Republic , is in the upper right corner of the map (there's also a bobblehead with +1 Perception).

Having obtained the keys, we head to Fort Constantine , at the top of the map, closer to the left edge. We infiltrate the officer's building (the lowest one) and head to the basement. By the way, there's a bobblehead with +10 Heavy Weapons in front of the first closed door. From there, it's all easy; I won't spoil the bunker exploration experience ;)

Prototype medical power armor

WEIGHT: 45, Defense: 40, EFFECT: -1 Dexterity, +25 Radiation Resistance;

Reminds you to use Med-X when taking damage. Automatically injects Med-X from your inventory upon taking a certain level of damage. Armor can be repaired with Power Armor (except Enclave and Tesla armor). Found on the corpse of a Brotherhood of Steel apprentice in the Old Oni Sewers .

Ledoux Hockey Mask

Weight: 1, Defense: 4, Effect: +25 AP

Let me say this is best for those who use VATS. For real-time players, the helmet from the T-51b set would be more suitable. Protection is mediocre, and the mask doesn't provide anything other than +25 AP, but that, excuse me, is the "Durable" perk. It can be repaired with regular hockey masks.

After starting the quest to find Quantum Cola in Herdershade , you'll receive the location of the Nuka-Cola Factory. While searching the Nuka-Cola Factory , you'll stumble upon Mercier's body. You'll pick up a note from his corpse, after which you'll realize he was searching the factory for the formula for producing pure cola. The formula is in a safe on the first floor, near the entrance. It can only be opened with a key. The key is in the possession of a robot named Milo. If you can't talk him into it, as John Silver said, "then the guns will talk for me."

Take the formula and head to the Red Racer Bicycle Factory , which is just nearby. As you approach, you'll be met by three men in hockey masks. You need the one to start the conversation, Goley Ledoux. He'll offer you 250 caps for the formula (despite the 150 listed on it). You can sell it, try to negotiate for 400, or be rude and open fire. There's also the Munchkin option: sell it and then kill everyone; they don't reduce your karma. You might want to try listening to his naive hockey ramblings first.

Raven Helmet

WEIGHT: 10, DR: 5, EFFECTS: +1 Perception

A helmet made from one of the spy satellites that fly everywhere and broadcast Enclave radio. Nothing special, really, just looks funny, offers decent protection for a tin can, and gives +1 Perception.

In the same Canterbury Commons , the same Uncle Rowe who gave the "Superhumans" quest can help you get rid of excess caps. Specifically, you can invest them in one of the four caravans in the game. You can invest 200 caps in each caravan, then another 500 caps, after which their selection becomes noticeably more diverse. Each caravanner will thank you for your investment when you meet them (if you've shelled out 700 caps).

Raven, the armor dealer, will give you this helmet. Incidentally, Crazy Wolfgang, the junk dealer, has a repair skill of 75 (which means he'll repair all your items (except Alien blasters) to 85% condition).

Button's Wig

WEIGHT: 1, DR: 1, EFFECTS: +10 Speech, +5 Barter, +1 Intelligence, -1 Perception

It offers almost no protection and looks out of place, but it increases Speech by 10, Barter by 5, and Intelligence by 1, while reducing Perception by 1. Considering it weighs only 1, it's easy to carry for conversational situations.

Take the quest regarding the Declaration of Independence from Abraham Washington in Rivet City and head to the National Archives. At the very bottom, where the Declaration is kept, you'll find a nerdy robot, and this wig will be lying on one of the dressers nearby.

Lilac Hood

WEIGHT: - DR: 3, EFFECTS: +1 Dexterity, +10 Stealth

Cannot be repaired with Oasis Tree Hoods , only by merchants. After completing the "Oasis" quest in the Oasis (if you used Birch Ointment on Harold's heart), you will receive Lilac.

Hat with brims

WEIGHT: - SU: - EFFECTS: +5 Stealth; +1 Perception

Cannot be repaired by anything, only merchants. Given by Moira ( Megaton ) for the quest with the mirelurk clutch while writing the "Survival Guide."
