Farragut West Metro Station | Fallout 3

Fallout 3 (Walkthrough) with DLC's -> Farragut West Metro Station

The station is located on the Red Line subway. It has a connection to Tenleytown/Friendship. Return to the Supermarket. From there, cross the small bridge to the other side of the river. At the end of the bridge on the east bank of the Potomac River is the first Raider checkpoint (1 Raider, 1 dog). Go left along the destroyed road. The second checkpoint has 2 Raiders. Go around the first skyscraper on the river side and, taking cover, run to the edge of the embankment. Take out the Raider. A marker will appear saying "You have found Farragut West Station."

Backtrack and move right parallel to the river, go around the embankment retaining wall, and carefully peek around the corner. You can see a patrol of mutant Beasts, attracted by your shots, appear on the opposite bank (from the Supermarket side) and engage in a firefight with two more Raiders manning a checkpoint near the water. Mutants armed with a minigun wipe out the raiders (recurring episode). Quickly "fast travel" (FT) to the Supermarket.

Approach the mutants from the right side of the tall building and, hiding behind the columns, approach them closely. Shoot them with a shotgun. Collect the trophies, then return to Farragut West. Collect the trophies from the killed raiders; behind the stacked tires is a cache with first aid kits and weapon crates. NPCs in the location: Raiders, mutants, centaurs, hunters, and rad cockroaches. Hunter trophies: "strange" meat, leather armor, and hunting rifles. On the main road next to the station is a group of 5-8 mutants.

They contain a large amount of ammunition and stimulants, as well as meat and organs. If you walk further down the road before the station entrance, you can stumble upon several cockroaches and a couple of centaurs. A little further on is a traveling merchant you can trade with. There are several creatures inside the station, and if you enter the first technical room, you'll find an office: a desk contains several metro tickets, tools, a Protectron, and a computer launch terminal. With a ticket, the Protectron will be very useful.

The station is blocked by rubble. In the manager's office, a laser pistol and an energy weapon instruction manual can be found in the safe. The instructions are a clue for further action. Directly from the exit is a catwalk and several zombies behind a barred door. You need to open the door, wait for the zombies to charge you, and then fire the laser pistol at the pipes. The explosion will kill all the zombies at once. Behind the closed door under the catwalk is the weapons room.

Bethesda's Oblivion game featured Fort Farragut. It's a bit of an inside joke. This entire northern ledge of the downtown Washington, D.C. residential area can be explored for experience points. Near the entrance to the Warm Sewers and the Dyukov House, hidden behind piles of construction debris is a tent where you can (accidentally) find a hostage and the fourth entry from the Keller family archive.

The same hostage can be found further into the ruined area, in a small square. Under the overpass bridge is the entrance to the Vault. There's only one feral zombie there. This unmarked location is recommended to get a sense of the Bethesda Works employees' sense of humor. A little further beyond the Vault entrance is a mutant checkpoint (a minigun), several zinc boxes with ammunition, and a couple of first aid kits.
