Bicycle Factory, Nuka-Cola Factory (quests)

Red Racer Bicycle Factory

The factory is full of wild zombies (in the production area) and mutants (in the office area upstairs). If your computer hacking level is high enough, you can hack the computer in the office area and signal it to disable all chips. This will cause the chips of everyone in the building (except two) to explode, blowing their heads off. In the back of the office space, you can meet a mad scientist nicknamed "The Surgeon," armed with a grenade launcher. There is also a glowing zombie named Stefan, who, according to the Surgeon's notes, is supposedly under her control.

The Surgeon's notes also reveal that she implanted chips in the heads of all the zombies and mutants in the building; that's why disabling them caused the explosions. The Surgeon's body contains a key that can be used to open two nearby safes, as well as Stefan's cage; a grenade launcher, and the Surgeon's Coat. Other important trophies include: the book "Nikola Tesla and You" (behind a closed door, Hacking +50, in the office area); The book "Dean's Electronics" is well hidden next to a toolbox in the first assembly hall, right through the main entrance. You need to jump on some barrels, and from there on to a car to see the book. The book is lying on top of the car. Also to the left of the entrance to the factory, in the back of a wrecked truck with the body of a Settler, lies "Grognak the Barbarian."

This is also the place where Gawley "Goalie" Ledoux (Ledoux Hockey Mask DR5, Effects +25 AP) and two other members of his gang meet after finding the formula for pure Nuka-Cola in the Nuka-Cola Factory. Ledoux offers 250 BC for the formula, but you can talk him into 400. After that, you can take out all three (Ledoux is armed with a scoped .44 Magnum, his comrades - with an assault rifle and a Chinese machine gun, all three are wearing a variant of the raider armor with increased characteristics Cold and Light Weapons +5). Karma for killing is not removed J.

Find the Formula. Secondary Task

The mission begins at the Nuka-Cola Plant, southeast of the Red Racer Factory. Climbing the stairs, the hero enters the office space, where he finds the body of Winger "Striker" Mercier, killed by cockroaches and Core Troopers (the toughest blue-shelled swamp lurker). There are two ways into this room. The first is straight ahead, through the door in the factory's reception area (Lockpick skill 100). Here, you must proceed sequentially through a series of workshops, first straight ahead, then left, ascending and descending catwalks. The enemy is Protectrons. In the isolated office section of the plant, there are 3-4 Core Troopers and cockroaches.

You must be careful: as soon as the shooting starts, all the Core Troopers will run towards the sound of gunfire. To even the odds, it is recommended to use mines. The second path is to the left of the entrance, to the safe, and then through the workshops, the technical room, and the half-flooded area where the Cola ingredients are mixed. The enemy is Protectrons, the Nuclear Engineers. Upon examining the body, a note is found, and upon reading it on the PB 3000 screen, the mission begins. The note instructs you to find the secret recipe for Clear Nuka-Cola in the plant's R&D department and bring it to Mercier's partner, Goley "Goalie" Ledoux, waiting at the gates of the Red Racer factory. The note reads:

Winger Mercier,

The Formula for Clear Nuka-Cola is on the first floor of their DC Plant. That's where they did all the R&D for it. Get the formula and meet us at the Red Rocket Tricycle Factory as we planned. Our buyer is promising lots of caps, so I want to see some hustle! This could take our gang to the big time. Sudden-Death Overtime forever.

Goalie Ledoux

Here, in the locked armory, lie several skeletons. A funny note is taken from one of the bodies. From it, it becomes clear that the author was "accidentally" locked in this room by a security robot. Then another office worker was "housed" with him because he didn't lift the toilet lid in the restroom. Apparently, the poor guys were just developing an escape plan when the L bombs fell.

The formula is in a locked wall safe in the plant's R&D department (there are no signs). This department is located immediately to the left of the plant entrance. There are three zones: Storage and Preparation of Mixtures, the office area, and the production floor (follow the arrows to the shipping zone). The password to the computer in the shipping zone is NC-C1864.

A key is required to open the safe. The safe is located in the production floor, a large room south of the Storage and Preparation of Mixtures zone; You can either enter through the door directly into the reception area (100% lockpicking skill), or take a long and dangerous detour to the left through rooms flooded with radioactive water and full of Nuclear Troopers. To obtain the key, you need to find a robot named Foreman Milo in the basement of the production facility. You can either persuade the robot to hand over the key (with a Speech skill of 100) or resolve the matter in a less civilized manner.

Next to Foreman Milo is a terminal from which you can command the Cola bottle unloading conveyor. From the same terminal, you can upload the coordinates for Paradise Falls and Old Olney to PB 3000. Three bottles of Quantum Cola can be obtained from the conveyor in the adjacent facility. Behind Milo is the entrance to a small nook with a safe and the book "Tumblers Today" (Hack+).

Then return to the Red Racer factory and deal with the Sudden Death Overtime gang. The disc with the formula remains with the hero, much to his joy.
