Perk System (Perception)

Perception is the character's awareness and "sixth sense." It affects weapon accuracy in VATS.

 

Perk level Requirements Description

Pickpocket - Perception 1

01 Your dexterous hands and nimble fingers make picking pockets 25% easier.

02 Level 06 Stealing is now 50% easier. You can now place an active grenade in a person's inventory.

03 Level 17 Stealing is now 75% easier, and you can steal NPCs' personal weapons.

04 Level 30 Stealing is now twice as easy and you can take items that are currently equipped on your character.


Rifleman - Perception 2

01 Stay at range and kill effectively. Non-automatic rifles deal 20% more damage.

02 Level 09 Non-automatic rifles deal 40% more damage and ignore 15% of the target's armor.

03 Level 18 Non-automatic rifles deal 60% more damage and ignore 20% of the target's armor.

04 Level 31 Non-automatic rifles deal 60% more damage and ignore 20% of the target's armor. They also have a small chance to damage limbs.

05 Level 46 Non-automatic rifles deal double damage and ignore 30% of the target's armor. They also have a small chance to damage a limb.


Awareness - Perception 3

01 To defeat your enemies, know their weak points! VATS lets you see the defenses of specific body parts.


Locksmith - Perception 4

01 Your nimble fingers allow you to pick (advanced) locks.

02 Level 07 You can pick expert locks.

03 Level 18 You can pick master locks.

04 Level 41 Your lock picks never break during a lock picking session.


Demolition Expert - Perception 5

01 The bigger the explosion, the better! Explosives provide 25% increased damage, and you can craft explosives at any chemistry station.

02 Level 10 Explosives deal 50% more damage and you can control the trajectory of grenades and other items.

03 Level 22 Explosives deal 50% more damage over a larger area.

04 Level 34 Explosives deal double damage. Mines and grenades fired in VATS also explode for double damage.


Night Person - Perception 6

01 You are a creature of the night! Gain +2 to Intelligence and Perception from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM.

02 Level 25 You now have +3 to Intelligence and Perception from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, and night vision while sneaking.


Refractor - Perception 7

01 You must be part of the mirror! Adds +10 energy damage protection.

02 Level 11 Adds +20 energy damage protection.

03 Level 21 Adds +30 energy damage protection.

04 Level 35 Adds +40 energy damage protection.

05 Level 42 Adds +50 energy damage protection.


Sniper - Perception 8

01 It's all about concentration. You have improved control and can hold your breath longer while aiming with a sniper weapon.

02 Level 13 Non-automatic rifles with a scope have a chance to knock down an enemy.

03 Level 26 Scoped rifles do not automatically gain +25% headshot accuracy in VATS.


Penetrator - Perception 9

01 There's nowhere to hide! In VATS, you can target enemy body parts while hiding behind cover, with diminishing returns.

02 Level 28 In VATS, you can target enemy body parts while hiding behind cover without losing accuracy.


Concentrated Fire - Perception 10

01 Be careful! In VATS, each attack to the same body part adds +10% accuracy.

02 Level 26 In VATS, each attack to the same body part adds +15% accuracy.

03 Level 50 In VATS, every attack to the same body part adds +20% accuracy and deals 20% more damage.
