IL86 – defects discovered during operation of this rifle led to most of the weapons being upgraded, and decommissioned batches finding their way into the Zone via the black market. Its main advantages are the standard 4x optical sight, high single-shot accuracy, and extensive upgrade potential. When firing in bursts, accuracy drops sharply, and the automatic system exhibits a tendency to lag.
The SGI-5K is a member of a relatively new family of assault rifles. Its high reliability, accuracy, and ease of use make it one of the best weapons in its class. Rarely encountered in the Zone and quite expensive, it is usually specially commissioned by seasoned stalkers.
The TRs-301 marks a new evolution of this renowned line of weapons. The changes essentially affected only the upper half of the receiver, including the barrel, gas valve, and bolt carrier, resulting in improved ergonomics and reliability, while reducing weight. This rifle boasts high accuracy, although its sensitivity to contamination makes it unsuitable for use in the harsh conditions of the Zone.
The GP37 embodies new trends in Western-made automatic weapons: its operating principle is based not on a delayed blowback, but on a short-stroke gas piston. It must be said that the changes have clearly been beneficial: this assault rifle is a first-class example of a modern weapon – lightweight, reliable, and ergonomic.
The FT-200M is a futuristic-looking weapon—a mass-produced assault rifle and grenade launcher system with a modular design. It is equipped with a 40mm grenade launcher and a computerized sight/fire control module. Despite its bulky appearance, it is highly ergonomic, easy to fire in all modes, and highly reliable.
The RP-74 is a lightly armed modification of the belt-fed army machine gun. Despite its heavy weight and poor accuracy, it has found widespread use in the Zone. It is primarily used to suppress superior enemy forces and to clear mutant lairs.
