Stalker: Call of Pripyat  → Pistols (description)

The PMM is the most common pistol in the zone. A legacy of the Soviet era, the PMM is one of the best representatives of the compact self-defense weapon class. It is compact, exceptionally reliable, and easy to use and maintain. Its drawbacks include short range and accuracy, low bullet efficiency, and—compared to modern pistols of the same class—its relatively heavy weight and limited magazine capacity.

The Fora-12 is a Ukrainian-made pistol primarily intended for law enforcement and security forces. Compared to the PMm, it boasts superior accuracy, response, and magazine capacity. It typically finds its way into the Zone as discarded items, often found in the Zone as early models with all their "teething problems." However, it is popular among stalkers due to its superior performance.

The HPSS-1m is a modified model of a pistol from the first half of the 20th century. Despite its advanced age, this model remains highly popular worldwide.

The SIP-T M200 is the only model of this popular pistol remaining in serial production. This weapon boasts excellent ergonomics and excellent accuracy. Its small magazine capacity is offset by a powerful cartridge and the reliability of a Swiss watch. It's no wonder this pistol remains a favorite among seasoned stalkers and mercenaries.

The Kora-919 is an improved model of a pistol that became a classic automatic weapon and served with distinction in every armed conflict of the 20th century. Both the original and modified versions are still produced by dozens, if not hundreds, of manufacturers. Its only drawback is its limited magazine capacity, but this is somewhat offset by its powerful cartridge.

The Black Hawk is a true "pocket gun"—large, heavy, and possessing exceptionally high stopping power. It was developed as a specialized weapon for hunting medium and large game, as well as for target shooting at silhouette targets at ranges of fifty meters and over. Due to its price, weight, and impressive size, it was not widely used in the Zone.

The Volker-P9m is an excellent Western-made pistol, distinguished by its high reliability, large magazine capacity, good accuracy, and arguably the best ergonomics in its class. After entering the Zone, it became one of the most popular pistols among both professionals and well-off newcomers.

The Alpiets is a unique model of the SIP-t M200 pistol. It was produced in a small batch by order of an unknown special forces unit. This modification features a high-capacity magazine, a high-strength steel barrel, and a polymer barrel casing.

Marta pistols have a worldwide reputation for being reliable, albeit somewhat bulky, and are used by the military and police forces of many countries. They are also popular with criminals thanks to their powerful cartridge and large magazine capacity. Typically, the models that end up in the Zone are older.

The UDP "Kompakt" is distinguished by its exceptional reliability and durability, coupled with excellent accuracy. Despite some drawbacks (such as its large size, high center of gravity, and massive bolt, which makes concealed carry difficult), it enjoys considerable popularity among Zone veterans.
