Novac (Part 2)

Fallout: New Vegas Walkthrough -> Novac (Part 2)

The door to the basement is next to a large staircase. Go down there and immediately save your game. You have two options here: you can kill all the Nightkin, or you can find one of them, named Davison, and ask him to leave the factory. In this case, during the conversation, you'll learn that the Nightkin have come here for the Stealth Boys, which are located in a room near Davison's, guarded by an armed Ghaul. After finishing the conversation, Davison will give you the key to the room with the Stealth Boys.

Furthermore, the Ghaul, Harland, is surrounded by traps and pitfalls; he protected himself this way, as he couldn't escape. You also have two options here: you can simply kill him, or you can agree to help him. He asks you to check if his girlfriend is alive. His girlfriend's body can be found in another part of the basement; be careful of the Nightkin there.

After completing the request, save again and carefully proceed through the room with the traps where the Nightkin was. Once you reach the end of the room, activate the terminal. The information on the terminal will reveal that the Stealth Boys were brought here by mistake. Therefore, the Nightkin are no longer here.

If you chose to eliminate all the Nightkin, anti-personnel mines will help against Davison. If you collected all the loot, you should have plenty of them. Before opening the door to Davison, place mines in the hallway, spaced about two meters apart. Talk to Davison, then run about five meters away from the last mine. He's a tough guy, so even this damage might not finish him off, but it will definitely cripple him. All that's left is to finish him off.

Now we return to Jason and inform him of our progress. But instead of leaving the factory, he'll send you back to the basement and go there himself, along with the other Ghauls. Here, you need to get to the room behind the one where Davison was. A switch on the wall will open a staircase. Descend it and follow the marker to a room with a window overlooking the missile launch pad.

In the room, you'll see Chris, a human ghoul, and Jason Bright. From the conversation, you'll learn that the missiles you see are destined for the Beyond. But the Ghauls are missing two crucial components: the Ignition Element Isotope-239 and the Thrust Control Module. Naturally, you'll have to find them.

Take the mission from Chris and exit through the hatch. Remember the hatch's location so you don't have to go through the tunnels every time. Use the Pip-Boy to travel to Novac, and from there, walk to the waypoint. To obtain Isotope-239, you'll need to either buy souvenir rockets from the Dyno Shop or follow the road southeast of Novac and loot the corpse. The Thrust Module can be obtained from Old Lady Gibson.

You can buy it for 500 caps, or less if you have the appropriate skills. You can also simply take it by force, which will require dealing with her and her dogs. In short, the end justifies the means; the main thing is to obtain the module, one way or another. Now that you have the necessary components, return to the factory.

Once you return to Chris with the necessary parts, he'll send you to the Launch Control Room. Go to where Jason and his team were standing, then proceed to the waypoint and one of the doors. Behind the door is a room with a navigation system and a launch system. If your Science skill is above 55, you have a choice here. You can optimize the flight path or make the rockets collide with each other by changing the coordinates. Either way, the task will be completed.

We go back to the dinosaur statue, to Manny. We ask him the same question we were interested in about the man in the suit. Let's continue with the quest "They Went That Way." We head to Boulder City .
