Fallout 3: Point Lookout | Fallout 3

Fallout 3 (Walkthrough) with DLC's -> Fallout 3: Point Lookout

Now you'll be continuing your adventure-filled journey. Head to the pier and find Madam Panda's shop among the many shops. Inside, you'll find a variety of island-related souvenirs. I advise you to splurge and buy as many essentials as possible, as you won't have the chance to do so soon.

Once you've stocked up, you can walk along the shore, heading to the eastern part of the area. A short distance further, you'll see a mansion that will remind you of Desmond's house. Head towards it and enter. You'll see a grandfather sitting in a wheelchair. However, don't rush to approach him, as he'll be negative at first. Wait a bit, and then approach the old man. You'll learn that the savages stole a valuable book. He'll ask you to find it and bring it to him. For this, he'll promise 1,000 caps. Agree and hurry to continue your Fallout 3: Point Lookout journey and deliver the stolen item to its owner.

However, as soon as you approach the house, you'll be met by a woman named Marcella. Talk to her and learn that the book you're looking for is called Krivbeknig. She'll also reveal that this book has magical powers. She'll also ask you not to deliver the book to old man Avdiy, but to bring it to her so she can use it to destroy the infernal manuscript once and for all.

After listening carefully to this woman's request, hurry to continue your Fallout 3: Point Lookout journey and head to the park inhabited by mutants. After passing through the park, reach the enemy's ritual vault, and next to it, you'll see a hatch leading to the basement. Lift the hatch cover, and you'll find a passage leading to a cave. Descend and proceed through this underground tunnel. It's worth noting that you'll find moonshine in this cave. After sampling this unearthly beverage, head to the magical book, Krivbeknig, in the center. Approach it and retrieve it, dispatching enemies along the way.

If you want to bring the manuscript to its owner, Blackhall, and earn 1,000 caps, then head out. After handing over the book, you can peek into the basement to see for yourself what Avdiy will do with it. He'll be standing next to a corpse, reading prayers over it.

If you want to help Marcela, head to the tent camp where you met this lovely lady. However, it turns out she was murdered. Go to her computer and find an audio recording made just minutes before her death. It turns out this book can only be destroyed in the Capital Wasteland, at the location of the obelisk that embodies true evil. Continue your Fallout 3: Point Lookout walkthrough and head to Dunwich, as that's where the obelisk is located. Nearby, you can destroy the magical book once and for all, thus fulfilling the woman's will.

The Velvet Curtain

Ahead of you is a pier. Look around and proceed forward. Once beyond the pier, you'll see a hotel with a sign reading "Home." Go inside and on the first floor, find a Chinese pistol lying abandoned on a dresser. Then search the room and examine the terminal on the table. It turns out that sometime before the war, this room was rented by a certain Chinese man who didn't manage to complete the task assigned to him. So hurry up and finish what the googly-eyed man started and find the key to the storage locker. You can find it in the suitcase lying in the room.

Once you've retrieved the key, head to the pier and open the locker. Inside, you'll find an audio password used to open a bank locker. This locker contains the task assigned to the Chinese spy. Continue your Fallout 3: Point Lookout walkthrough and head to the bank, which you can find near the hotel. Be vigilant, as the bank is guarded by soldiers, who must be dealt with at the very beginning.

Once the passage is clear, calmly proceed to the terminal and provide the password from the audio recording. However, it's not that simple, as the system will recognize the password, but not the owner's voice. So quickly find the audio recording you picked up and play it. Now the system will recognize the password and let you in. Open the locker and find the instructions. After reading the information, you'll learn that a vessel is sailing in American waters that must be destroyed. But to destroy it, you need to use the password hidden in the jaw of one of the agents sent to this territory. His name is Van Yang.

Naturally, no one knows his whereabouts. So hurry, stock up on dental tools and go find this Van Yang. Proceed to the police station, which is located next to the bank. Entering a large, spacious room, you'll see a computer where you can read that the agent you're looking for has been captured and sent to Camp Gorlitsa for treatment. This camp is located in the northern part of the island, amidst swamps surrounded by forests.

After fending off the enemy attack, head inside the camp. You'll find ammunition, weapons, and other essentials within the area. Then, head to the morgue to find the agent's corpse. Open his tooth and quickly blow up the ship. Later in Fallout 3: Point Lookout, you'll need to make your way to the submarine and find its onboard computer, into which you'll need to enter the kill code. Once done, escape the submarine as quickly as possible, grabbing the power fist, which you can find in the chest. After completing this mission, you can safely return to the Rodnoy Dom Hotel for further instructions. Upon arrival, you'll find the coordinates for the bunker; it's located underground. Follow the coordinates, and they'll lead you to a point near the Calvert estate. To enter, you'll need cryptochromatic glasses, which you'll find in the bathroom in your room. Equip them to enter the bunker's entry code. It will look like this: there are large vases in the annex that lower when you activate them. The activation order depends on the number of bars on the vases. Once you complete these steps, a hatch in the middle of the annex will open.

As you progress through Fallout 3: Point Lookout, it's worth noting that you'll have the opportunity to significantly replenish your ammunition in the bunker. However, as soon as you want to do so, a Protectron will approach you and offer you new instructions. Follow him. Upon entering the room, you'll be in for a small surprise: instead of new instructions, you'll be attacked by the Chinese. The door will close behind you, and radiation will begin emitting from the hatch. To solve this problem, use your repair skill to repair the hatch, which will in turn stop the radiation flowing into your room. Afterward, head to the power panel on the wall and, after working on it, the doors will open. You'll encounter Proto-Electron again, so kill him, of course. After all, it was because of him that you got into this mess.

Plik's Safari:

In the rocky area east of the cathedral, find the door that leads to the Lost Grotto. There, you'll meet a ghoul named Plik, who will invite you to participate in an unusual safari. Participation costs one thousand bottle caps. The safari will involve hunting ghouls, and Plik won't offer any assistance. So, you'll need to figure out who will be the hunter and who the hunted. After paying the entry fee, head to the arena, where two other daredevils await you. The task is truly challenging, as ghouls will be pouring in from all sides, but once you've completed it, return to Plik, where a reward of a trophy axe awaits.

A Shortage of Whiskey:

At this point in Fallout 3: Point Lookout, you can find Margarita the Moonshiner's lair in the center of the island. She'll attribute her unwell appearance to orange fever, but since the cure for this "fever" is moonshine, it suggests she was simply feeling as good yesterday as she is today. By agreeing to do her a favor, you'll learn a list of the ingredients needed for obtaining it: yeast, punga, and a nuclear battery. Simply search the location to find everything you need. To speed up this stage of Fallout 3: Point Lookout, search for the necessary ingredients in mutant camps. When you return to Margarita the Moonshiner, she'll immediately begin preparing a healing mixture. You'll have to return the next day to collect your reward—a couple of liters of moonshine. You can also earn a hundred caps by fixing a broken moonshine still.

Ancient Country:

If you go down a little from the Cathedral, you can find a sunken ship there called the Ozymandias. If you climb inside and dig around, you'll discover a terminal that reveals that geological surveys were underway at Viewpoint to locate natural gas. Dig through the papers, and you'll discover that the entire crew was instructed to conceal the true purpose of the survey. To uncover what lies behind this veil of mystery, search for the audio password found at the excavation sites. Find the recordings in three pits, and return to the ship. There, use the terminal to access classified data. It turns out the company was concealing the fact that the gas originated from mass graves of soldiers killed during the Civil War, and if the public learned of this fact, extraction would be impossible. This information also explains all the mystical events occurring on the island.

Missions not shown in the Pip-Boy

While playing Fallout 3: Point Lookout, you may encounter quests that don't appear in your Pip-Boy. These include a quest from Nadine, who promised to find out the identity of the person responsible for drilling holes in your head. You can find her near Duchess Gambit. She'll tell you that she found and captured a maniac with a penchant for brains—surprisingly, Captain Tobar. Nadine also tells you Tobar's location: the engine room, where she personally locked him. If you agree to kill him, Nadine, the new captain of the ship, will offer you a free ride back to the Wasteland.

Also, during Fallout 3: Point Lookout, you can get a free overnight stay at Point Lookout by completing a quest from Kenny. He can be found just below the Cathedral in a rocky area near the mine. First, you'll hear a mystical story about a duke who blew up his own workers in the mine and then hanged himself there. Since then, rumors have swirled that the duke's ghost haunts the mine. Kenny asks you to go inside and retrieve his teddy bear. After agreeing, head into the mine, eliminate the mirelurks there, and you'll easily find Kenny's teddy bear.

Another side quest for you might involve finding a truck that overturned near the cathedral. If you ignore it, you won't know it contains a lighthouse lamp. Retrieve it from the trailer, and you'll be able to repair the broken lighthouse at Point Lookout.

These are all non-storyline quests, but they're not all you can do in Fallout 3: Point Lookout. Using a shovel, you can dig holes scattered throughout the island, but it's a thankless task, as the developers haven't provided anything useful for you to find.

To repair your tools, gear, and replenish your supplies, you can visit the "Haley's Goods" store. You can also get a suit called the "Red Racer," which will increase your repair ability by 5.

While playing Fallout 3: Point Lookout, you'll find a plane that crashed before the war on the west side of the island. Search the wreckage and you'll find a black box that tells the story of the crew's final moments.

To begin this quest, you'll need to infiltrate the Turtledove Concentration Camp. There, you'll encounter a brief firefight between robots and ghouls. Once you've defeated both sides, head to the administration building and check the terminal. There, you'll learn about a dead spy. You should head to the Home Motel, room 1D. There, you'll find another terminal. It contains a mission entry for the dead Chinese spy lying on the bed behind you. You need to go to the dock and find a locker. Take the key from the spy's bag and head to the dock. There, you'll see numerous lockers, one of which contains the mission details. It turns out the recording contains the password to the bank, for depository locker 1207. Let's go there. Activate the note using the Pip-Boy 3000 in front of the intercom. The lock opens, revealing mission instructions for Chinese spies.

From them, we learn about a ship and its destruction. Agent Yang was supposed to assist the Chinese spy in this matter, information about whom you should find out at the recruitment terminal. You should return to Camp Turtle. There, go down to the morgue and find the body of Agent Wang Yang. You need to extract a false molar, which contains a microfilm containing the self-destruct codes for the Chinese submarine, as well as its location. Go straight to it, or rather, with dust. Activate the self-destruct system and also activate the switch to notify of the submarine's destruction. Now you should head to the Home Motel for new instructions.

Now you need to get the cryptochromatic glasses from the toilet tank in room 1D and use them and the note about the numerical sequence to enter the spy bunker. Arrive at the designated location and see four pedestals. Put on the glasses and use the pedestals in the order specified by the note. The entrance to the bunker will open near the second pedestal. At the entrance, you'll be met by a Protectron. It's best to tell him the password, and you'll need to follow him to confirm the details of the operation. After entering the room and using the terminal, you'll learn that the agent was targeted for radiation poisoning. But we're smarter than them, right? Just follow the instructions in the picture if you don't know how to get out. This completes the mission.

You can find the Blackhall house in the west of the park. Inside, you'll meet Avdiy Blackhall, who asks you to find this book. On the way out, you meet a girl. Marcella says the book you were sent for is Krivbeknikh, the center of evil. She asks you to bring the book to her. One way or another, you should go to the Ritual Refuge. After wandering around the dungeons for a bit, you'll find the book covered in fresh blood. Take it and go to either Avdiy or Marcella. But no such luck! You're attacked by multiple monsters who have stolen the book. Fight for it! As always, you win and emerge unscathed (or rather, bloodied).

1. If you decide to go to Avdiy, you simply give him the book, and he'll give you the money and go to the basement to do terrible things with the book.

2. If you listen to Marcella and go to her tent camp, you'll find it under attack. After killing the smugglers, we enter the tent and find Marcella's corpse. We notice a strange recording on the table. Listen to it and learn how to destroy the book. Now we should head to Dunwich in the Capital Wasteland. It's located in the southwest on the wasteland map. The markers should help you in your search. Find the obelisk in the Dunwich Building. Click on it with the book, and that's it! The quest is complete and your karma has increased!

In Margarita's shack, you meet... oddly enough, Margarita, who claims to have orange fever. She's lying. She simply needs a drink, the recipe for which has been passed down through generations in her family. For the drink, she needs: 10 peeled or 20 wild punga fruits, 3 bags of yeast, and 6 nuclear batteries. Once you find all this, return to her and give her all the ingredients. She will start making "moonshine." This will take a day. You receive the drink and the task is complete! You can get the drink again after a while.

The quest begins when you discover a coastal grotto in the eastern part of the park (screenshot attached). Inside, Plik, a ghoul, is sitting on a chair. He invites you to join his Safari. He asks for 1,000 bottle caps. Bring him the money, and the Safari begins! Head to the arena, where you'll be met by two other humans just like you. Give the signal, and the slaughter begins! If you survive, and you should, then return to Plik. For victory, he'll give you a hatchet. This completes the quest. You can come here once every three days.

You can start the quest at the Ozymandias. The ship has crashed and now sits alone off the coast. You need to board the ship and rush through the hatch to the lower deck. There you'll find a terminal with a recording about gas deposits. There are only three of them, and after you've explored them all, you'll gain access to the safe. You're curious about what's inside, right? Run to the deposits, enter each one, and collect the recording. In each one, Caroline Saunders, the expedition's chief chemical geologist, will talk about the gas deposits and highlight various facts about them. She'll tell you that there's a lot of money to be made from them, but she doesn't understand what that alkaline residue is. However, from the recording in the terminal, we can learn that people were buried there. Take the recordings to the ship and upload them to the terminal. You'll be given access to the contents: biogas containers, radiation suits, Rad-X, and Rad-Away. You'll also get 50 experience for completing the task.
