To reach Sakharov's old acquaintance, we'll have to do a bit of shooting. The bunker is once again under slow attack by zombies, and the local team is struggling. We provide fire support and talk to Sakharov. From the conversation, we learn that Strelok visited here and received a prototype psi-helmet from Sakharov, without which it's impossible to pass through the factory to the Red Forest.
Sakharov's supply of helmets is exhausted, but there's a chance to understand the cause of the surges in psi-activity around the X-16 laboratory. To do this, we need to reach the location where a PDA with documentation for the emitter device is found on one of the corpses of the expedition killed by a psi-blow.
All we have to do is quickly run along the western wall of the factory, shooting the blind dogs and their pseudo-relatives, grab the PDA, and return. It's not a good idea to linger near the corpses, as another group of zombies is approaching.
Returning to Sakharov, we listen to his thoughts regarding the reasons for the uneven radiation of the installation and receive the task of accompanying Lefty's detachment, which must restore the cooling of the installation.
Having infiltrated the plant with Lefty's group, we take up position on the warehouse roof at his command, where we spend three minutes shooting zombies who don't want the plant cooled.
After restoring the cooling system, we receive information from Sakharov about Strelok's location, proceed through the plant's western gate, and find ourselves near the bridge to Limansk and the edge of the Red Forest .
