Metro 2033: Walkthrough → Library
The Great Library was a breathtaking place. I felt like I was in a castle out of a picture book. And, just like in those fairy tales, the treasures were guarded by terrifying monsters.
When we entered, a demon would burst through the door, and we'd barely have time to run into the next one for cover. While the soldiers held this door, we needed to open the next one.
Run up the stairs and around the right side of the large hall, finding a flimsy door on the left. Break it down, and there, in a crack in the doorway, you'll see a board holding up a large door. Shoot the board and knock it down.
The soldiers will run through the door and thank us for our good, and most importantly, quick, work. After such a jolt, we could joke. But we probably didn't find it very funny when the guys said they'd pick us up on the way back. After that, the door will fall, and we'll find ourselves together again.
We'll go a little further and run into a closed door again. We'll have to open it again. Through the broken door, which we'll break down, we'll go into the offices on the left and there, through a hole in the wall, we'll find ourselves in a room with a hanging chandelier. We'll shoot it, and as it falls, it will open the door, and there we are again together.
We proceed to the next huge hall. There, they'll tell us about the librarians, the most dangerous creatures in this world. We can't attack them, but we can't run away either. They don't notice us when we're standing still. This is vital information; we'll need it.
We continue on, but a demon flies through the window and seriously wounds one of the soldiers—Danila. He needs to be delivered to Polis immediately, so we'll set out alone to search for the documents.
We enter the door behind which the librarian disappeared. We walk along the corridor and occasionally glance up; there are some very interesting creatures there, resembling snakes clinging to the ceiling; they can seriously damage your health. But that's nothing; the real fun awaits in the Book Depository .
