Darl Valley
There's also face control at the entrance to the Dark Valley. True, they don't rob you here; they just check your facial expressions. And that's okay. After speaking with the garrison commander, we head to the Svoboda base. Here we'll speak with Commandant Shchukin, who values his time far too highly. On his orders, we go kill one of the pseudo-dogs.
Upon returning, we receive another mission: deliver ammunition to the Svoboda outpost. We get the ammo from the chatty Ashot and head to the outpost, but we're a bit late. The Svoboda soldiers' corpses are still warm, and on one of them we find a PDA containing an interesting audio recording. It turns out that Commandant Shchukin is a double-dealer and a traitor who exposed the Svoboda outpost to a mercenary squad.
Returning to base, we discover that Shchukin is not only busy but also a wise man. At least, he was wise enough to slip away to the mercenaries for protection.
This time, we're granted an audience with Svoboda's commander, Chekhov. Naturally, our next task is to find and eliminate the commandant. No need to drag his head off; his PDA will do. Along the way, we discover that Fang visited the Svoboda base, bought what he needed, and departed. Where to? If we have the commandant's PDA, we'll talk.
We find the commandant on a farm by the road. There's also a small cover group there, which the Svoboda men are wiping out with particular cynicism, jokes, and banter. We find the commandant's body, retrieve the PDA, and return to Chekhov.
A conversation with Chekhov reveals that Fang has gone to the Dump . Really? We just came from there.
