Old World Blues: Abilities, Balls, and Achievements

Fallout: New Vegas Walkthrough -> Old World Blues: Abilities, Balls, and Achievements

Gained abilities:

Brainless:

Your brain has been replaced with a high-tech product: your head is now invulnerable to damage, you are more resistant to chemical addiction (+25% resistance) and physical damage (+5% damage threshold, minimum +1).

Received automatically during the "Welcome to the Mountain" quest.

Spineless:

Your spine has been replaced with a high-tech product. Your torso is now invulnerable to damage, and your strength (STR) and damage threshold (DT) have increased (+1).

Received automatically during the "Welcome to the Mountain" quest.

Heartless:

Your heart has been replaced with a high-tech product: you can no longer be poisoned, an artificial heart regulates blood flow and the healing process, and drugs (chemicals) have an additional effect. Robots encountering you will be disoriented, reducing their chance of inflicting critical damage by 50%.

Received automatically during the "Welcome to the Mountain" quest.

DNAsador:

Increases damage dealt to Cazadors by 10% per rank, up to 30%.

Granted automatically upon killing the required number of Cazadors in the Big Mountain area.

Level 1: 2 kills.

Level 2: 5 kills.

Level 3: 10 kills.

C-13 Implant:

Initially, a special program for turrets was planned in case cazadores escaped from the lock, but then a decision was made to create a C-13 implant suitable for the human body (+10% damage to cazadores).

The implant can be installed at the AutoDoc for 8,000 Caps with the "AutoDoc Upgrade: C-13 Implant" holodisk.

M-5 Implant:

You can become... better... faster... stronger. Actually, only faster. The M-5 implant increases stealth speed by 20%, making the test subject more effective.

The implant can be installed at the AutoDoc for 10,000 Caps with the "AutoDoc Upgrade: M-5 Implant" holodisk.

Y-3 Implant

The Y-3 implant creates a filtration system in the digestive tract that removes radioactive particles from any liquid consumed before they can have a harmful effect on the body.

The implant can be installed at an AutoDoc for 12,000 Caps with the "AutoDoc Upgrade: Y-3 Implant" holodisk.

Y-7 Implant

The Y-7 implant increases the efficiency of enzymes, resulting in better health (HP) recovery from food, and additional action points (AP) for each serving.

The implant can be installed at an AutoDoc for 20,000 Caps with the "AutoDoc Upgrade: Y-7 Implant" holodisk.

Greater Mind:

Your brain has returned to its normal position, but some of the effects of high technology remain: your head remains invulnerable, but you are only 10% less susceptible to addiction. Surprisingly, your damage threshold has increased by 10% (minimum +1 DT).

This ability can be obtained by returning the Courier's brain to his head during or after the "Old World Blues" quest in the Smart Home autodoc.

Cardiac Arrest:

Your heart has returned to its normal position, but some of the effects of high-tech use remain. Poison resistance has decreased (50%), encounters with you only partially disorient robots (25% less chance of a critical hit against you), but medicines (chemicals) are now even more effective!

This ability can be obtained by returning the Courier's heart during or after the "Old World Blues" quest in the Smart Home autodoc.

Reinforced Spine:

Your spine has returned to its normal position, but some of the effects of high-tech use remain. Your torso is again susceptible to damage, but your strength (STR) and damage threshold (DT) bonuses have doubled (+2)!

This ability can be obtained by returning the Courier's spine to his body during or after the "Old World Blues" quest in the Smart Home Autodock. The "Big Mountain" snow globe is located at  the X-17 weather station.

From the Higgs Village model, follow the walkway to the room with the terminal that launches the weather test. The snow globe is located directly on the computer console opposite the entrance.

Once you take this snow globe, you will immediately receive 2,000 caps, and the snow globe will appear on a shelf in the presidential suite in Lucky 38.
