Vault 101

In the SPECIAL children's book lying on the floor, select key attributes. Strength, perception, endurance, charisma, intelligence, dexterity, luck – choose them according to your preferences and play style. If you want to be great at picking locks and defusing bombs, choose intelligence; if you want to shop at low prices and be liked by people, choose charisma, and so on.

Coming of Age. Act II

We're ten years old, and our father has thrown a party. We speak to each guest in turn and accept their gifts. You can respond positively or negatively. However, keep in mind that our behavior affects our karma: being rude to guests lowers it, while being polite increases it. After Grandma Agatha gives us a cake, the bully Vance, surrounded by a gang of loyal lackeys, will speak to us. He'll demand the pie, which we can give, run off with it to the guard, or simply refuse.

A little later, our father will speak to us and say he's prepared a gift. To receive it, open the Pip-Boy (Tab by default), also given to us for our birthday, open the map, and head to the signpost. Find Jonas, talk to him, and wait for our father. We receive an air rifle and 50 rounds of ammunition as a gift. You can try it out right away. We shoot at the targets first, then kill the radroaches underneath them (V by default to enable VATS mode), and take a photo with our father and Jonas.

Coming of Age. Act III

It's time to take the K.O.Z.U., the exam that will determine our future. We speak with our father, and afterward, grabbing a doll from his desk that adds 10 points to our Medicine score, we head to class. Along the way, we encounter a gang of Tunnel Snakes, led by Vance. They're harassing our friend Amata. We stand up for her and talk to Vance. We again have a choice: either defend the girl with our fists, say we'll report her to the overseer, or leave her in the lurch. After the test, we speak to the examiner and tell him we know what this test really entails. We select the necessary skills and complete the stage.

Coming of Age. Act IV

It's time for the final part of the tutorial, where we'll have to fight our way out of Vault 101. Amata wakes us up and tells us that our father has escaped the vault, Jonas, who helped him, has been shot, and now the guards, on orders from the Overseer (Amata's father, by the way), are looking for us. The only wise decision is to run. Our comrade will give us a weapon and then successfully escape. We leave our room and encounter the first guard fighting radroaches. You can kill him along with the creatures, or you can just sneak past. Next, our old friend Vance stands in our way, only instead of attacking us, he's crying like a little girl and begging us to save his mother, who's being attacked by roaches. Once again, we have a choice: help Vance, convince him to fight on his own, or leave him to his fate. Of course, he should be taught a lesson, but not at such a cost.

We go into the room and deal with the cockroaches, accompanied by Vance's mother's shrieks. Once finished, we exit, receiving a thank-you note and a Tunnel Snake jacket as a gift, after which we continue our journey, moving forward and killing annoying guards along the way.

We reach a room where the Overseer is beating his daughter, trying to figure out our location. We go inside, kill the guard, and speak with the Overseer. Again, we have a choice: kill the bastard or let him live. If we choose the latter, we should choose the dialogue option to threaten Amata, at which point the Overseer will voluntarily give you the key to his office and the computer password. But it's fairer to remove him for killing Jonas and attempting to take our lives. We kill him and loot all the necessary information from his corpse. As we exit the room, we encounter Amata, who tearfully accuses us of every mortal sin. We speak with her and move on.

Along the way, we stumble upon Jonas's body. We search it and find an audio recording from our father, addressed to us, in which he apologizes, says he doesn't expect our understanding and doesn't justify his actions. We continue to the Overseer's office, unlock it with the key, and enter. We need access to his computer. If you resolved the matter peacefully and allowed Amata's father to live, then simply enter the password given to us. If you killed him, we search the lockers in the room and find the password, then enter it as well.

And, of course, there's nothing stopping us from simply hacking it. It turns out there's a secret passage under the Overseer's desk. We descend into it, and we're one step away from freedom. We approach the control panel and open the huge metal shutter. Just then, Amata approaches us. We speak to her. If you killed her father, we apologize (although it won't help anyway); if not, we simply say goodbye. After she leaves, two guards will come running after us. Deal with them and exit. Here you can change all assigned parameters one last time, as well as change your name and appearance.
