Growing up fast
Birthday. The Vault Overseer gives you a Pip Boy 3000. Talk to Amata (Grognak the Barbarian Comic +1 Melee). Talk to Stanley (Pre-War Baseball Cap W1 Perc+1). Put on the baseball cap! Talk to Granny Palmer (Sweet Roll). Talk to Butch (give the sweet roll). Talk to the others. Follow Dad to Jonas. Talk to Jonas and Dad (Air rifle and 50 pellets for it).
The future is in the fog
Talk to your father (take the +10 Medicine figurine from the desk). On the way to the exam, pick up the stimulator from the tray in the operating room (similar to the "Escape" chapter). If you hack the computer in your father's office, you can read about "Project Purity" (by the way, this won't work in the next chapter, as the computer will be locked). The situation with Amata (talk to one of the guys accompanying Butch and convince him that he's using them. Maximum karma). Pass the exam. Talk to Mr. Bratch. Change specializations to the ones you need (Speech - Repair - Melee Weapons / Sneak).
Escape
In a conversation with Amata, express concern about a possible ambush and leave the gun with her. Take everything from the room. Arm yourself with the baseball bat. Go left. Butch DeLoria begs you to save his mother. Run into the room behind him and kill three rows of cockroaches (karma +, Tunnel Snake jacket +5 Melee). Put on the jacket and baseball cap. Examine Grandma Taylor's body and kill the cockroaches. Talk to Officer Gomez. Enter your father's office. You can stealth, after saving first, and pickpocket Stanley (the key to Vault 101 Utility Room – until your next visit to the Vault!). Safecracking (requires skill +50) will not work, as with skills, Mentats, and a PE+1 baseball cap, you only get +47.
Atrium: Without waiting for the couple to finish talking, run left into the corridor and kill the two security officers (10mm pistols, ammunition, Vault 101 body armor, helmets, batons). Rad cockroaches, Chief of Security Hannon (body armor, helmet, baton). The body of a technician (Technical Service robe +5 Lockpick, +5 Repair, sunglasses); in the toolbox is a spray bottle and scrap metal). Further down the corridor is the Overseer's room. Break in and kill Officer Mac (trophies), or wait until Amantha shoots him.
Talk to the Overseer: the key and terminal code. Shift into stealth mode. Rob the Overseer. Alternatively, the key and terminal code are in the lockers. Search the lockers (stim, 38 10mm rounds). In the next room, examine Jonas's body and his desk (Vault 101 Lab Coat +5 Science, 8 Buckshot Rounds, Pre-War Money). Enter the room where Amata is sitting. Talk to her (10mm pistol with increased stats - if you enter Item Code 0006F210 for this pistol in console commands, the pistol at maximum upgrade will deal the same damage as the Alien Blaster!, 5 Hairpins for Hacking).
The Overseer's Room
Overseer's room (10mm ammo clip, possibly Mentats). Room behind the red door: 10mm ammo, computer password card. View all recordings, open the secret door. Proceed to the room with the outer door. Save. Press the terminal button. Amata will arrive. Farewell. The door will open. More security officers will run in (two people, they are killed in the same way. The previously locked door will remain open behind them; you can go to the technical rooms and take additional trophies from the boxes. Then - the exit to the first two guards' bodies).
To take as many trophies as possible from the Vault, you can use the "Repair" skill (+ robe) and "repair" some of the batons, helmets, body armor, etc. Run to the outer door. Put on sunglasses! Exit to the Wasteland. Change the stats and specializations to the desired ones (Speech - Explosives / Repair - Lockpicking).
Skills before the wasteland
To complete the Megaton missions, you need:
- Speech – at least 50;
- Explosives – at least 25;
- Repair – at least 30.
Speech and Repair can be further increased by Burke's clothing and from Vault 101 + Mentats. Explosives can only be upgraded with the book "Duck and Cover!" +1 Explosives – under the bridge next to the Super Duper Mart and in Springvale Elementary School. Therefore, it is necessary to carefully calculate the distribution of points on levels 1/8 and 2/3).
