Receiving the quest "Magpie"
When we first arrive at Skadovsk, we can eavesdrop on a conversation between Gonta and Garmata. After the conversation ends, Gonta asks us if we've seen a stalker named Soroka. He then explains that Soroka was asked to help, and he agreed.
All he had to do was stand guard near the lair and report when the chimera appeared. Ultimately, he abandoned the group to their deaths and escaped. Because of him, Crab suffered, and Gonta wants revenge. Walkthrough. To complete the quest, you must complete the quest "Retribution."
Sych can help us find Soroka. For 1000 RU, he'll tell us that this stalker is most likely on Yanov, and that Soroka has likely changed his name and group.
Receiving the quest "Retribution"
At the "Jupiter's Environs" location in the Quarry, a wounded stalker named Shchepka lies near an anomaly. There's no way to help him, but he manages to tell you that he came here with another stalker from the free world. After Shchepka fell into the anomaly, the free world member took the artifact and said he'd go get help, but he lied and left the stalker to die. Shchepka asks you to find him and take revenge.
Walkthrough of the quest "Retribution"
We return to Yanov. As soon as we enter, we hear a Svoboda member named Flint tell us about how he recently retrieved an artifact from the Quarry. We realize he's the Svoboda member who abandoned Shchepka and ran off with the artifact. We approach him and ask him to tell us about the artifact again. He proudly says there's nothing left to search there after him (though there is one artifact to be found). We ask the logical question: "So you left your comrade there to die?" To the question "What?" we answer that Shchepka didn't die right away and managed to tell us everything.
He becomes embittered and nervous, and then tells us the same story about the chimera. We realize this is the stalker Soroka. We then have a choice: Hand him over to Duty, Freedom, or Gonta.
Awards
If we hand over Soroka to Gonta, we will receive 3000 RU and the coordinates of the cache.
If we handed Soroka over to Freedom or Duty, we'll receive 1,000 RU and a reputation boost with the faction.
