Stalker: Call of Pripyat → Quests → Debts
After speaking with the stalker Vano at the Yanove station, we learn that he's in debt to the bandits, who are constantly demanding interest on the debt. It would be nice if a third party delivered the money... If we agree, Vano will give us 5,000 rubles, which we need to give to the bandit leader. Upon arriving at the scene and speaking with Valet (the bandit leader), it becomes clear that he'll keep demanding interest, and threats won't deter him.
There are a couple of options:
1) Give 7000 and go your separate ways.
2) Shoot them all.
The second option is preferable if you're playing on a relatively easy difficulty, as you can loot a decent shotgun, the "Puncher," from Jack's corpse. But on "Veteran," you're unlikely to even get a machine gun.
Either way, having solved the problem, we inform Vano of its solution. The quest is now complete.
