Dead City

Metro 2033: Walkthrough  → Dead City

How can you describe the feeling of seeing the sky in the tunnels after twenty years? Seeing the city where you were once born, now ruled by monsters? "Here it is, the Dead City," Bourbon told me. "Welcome home."

We climb the remains of an escalator to the upper part of Prospekt Mira station. We'll search the stalkers' corpses here and replenish our ammunition. Stalkers often make caches on the streets. You need to keep your eyes open and look into every crevice, then you won't have any problems with ammo and filters.

Once outside, we'll see a huge flying creature in the sky—a demon. Shooting it is useless. The best way to survive is to hide where it can't reach us.

After a quick zoology lesson from Bourbon, we run on. When he jumps over the avalanche, we'll follow suit, but both will fall. Now we'll find ourselves on opposite sides of the cliff. We'll have to go around it, through the building. Well, let's recharge the flashlight and get going.

There will be quite a few mutants in the house, jumping out from around every corner. Overall, it won't be boring. We'll go up the stairs and find a passage to the other side. We'll exit into the courtyard, where there will be just as many monsters.

When we pass through the underground passage, or rather its remains, we'll see a demon devouring a stalker's corpse. There's no point in shooting it. We can quickly run up the hill and through a crack in the building; there's a sign pointing to an underground passage nearby, which is exactly where we need to go. Although, I managed to knock the creature out with dynamite.

Once you're inside the building, be careful. There are tripwires and other traps everywhere. Proceed carefully and emerge into the courtyard, where we'll meet Bourbon. Thank goodness, it's much more fun with two people. Let's continue on our way. Especially since there's still one last courtyard to go.

But don't relax. A flying creature will attack us in the courtyard, and there will be quite a few running ones too. Ambush. We'll shoot a bit and then run. We'll reach the ventilation shaft. We jump in first, help Bourbon, and we're saved, for now, at least. Next up,  Sukharevskaya .
