Metro 2033: Game Walkthrough → D-6
Did we really find the entrance to the legendary bunker? I couldn't believe it. But how many people gave their lives so we could gain access to the last missiles! Was it worth it?
So we've found the military complex, now our task is to activate it. After all, it's been offline for 20 years.
Let's leave Ulman and Vladimir by the train, while Melnik and I try to reach the control panel. We'll run a bit through the stairs and subway cars, and soon we'll find ourselves at the control panel. The button won't start anything, so we'll have to do everything manually.
We climb up and find four starters. To start them, we first need to open all the covers, which we'll do. Then we need to start them.
On command, press and hold the button Melnik tells us. Once all four starters are activated, we descend back to the control panel. We nearly fall along the way, but with a remarkable display of speed, we save ourselves.
So, the ventilation is running, now let's try to activate the entire system. But to do that, we need to descend to the control center. It's located one level below. We board the lift and descend to Sector "A." The gates behind which the command post is located are closed, and to open them, we'll start the mini-train, which will drive through the gates itself, thereby opening them.
We're finally at the command post. We'll wait for Vladimir to activate the system and inform us that there's one missile system usable. And that's what we'll use.
It would seem that everything is done, but it's not so simple. Suddenly, like everything else in this game, the power goes out, and we'll have to go down to the very bottom and restart the reactor. And of course, we'll go on this mission. Melnik and Ulman will come with us; the three of us will make it quickly. Probably.
When we reach the gate, we see amoebas, which can be very harmful to health, and Melnik decides to leave Ulman with Volodya. So from now on, we'll go on together.
Taking the elevator down another level, we'll see an elevator that can take us to the reactor level, but the door is locked, so we'll have to go around it. The path will seem very long due to the pesky amoebas that will jump out at us by the dozens. The main thing is to have enough ammo. Once we reach the elevator, we descend to the very bottom, to the reactor level. We encounter the mysterious Biomass .
