Not far from Novac, you'll stumble upon the mining settlement of Sloane. But no one goes to the quarry, as Deathclaws have recently taken up residence there... We need to help the poor people! By the way, we're treating the paw of a local pet mole rat... The local commander, Chomp Lewis, is very grateful.
We reach the Quarry, and here we'll simply have to work miracles to shoot these dangerous and resilient monsters! We can do this later, when we get a decent weapon, or we can sweat it out and earn some good money... Someone here undoubtedly uses the "immortality/infinite ammo" code (press the "~" sign and type tgm) - but that's certainly not it and there's no point!
In the Quarry itself, we'll be attracted by a group of three individuals; they turn out to be reconnaissance for the Great Khans. We speak with the leader, Melissa. They're here to take the "goods," which are basically drugs. But because of the Deathclaws, they can't do anything. We're helping them.
We head back to Sloane, where the coveted suitcase of drugs should be in the Administration building. It's there, but empty. We head out onto the road and ask Chop Lewis about the suitcase's contents. He says the goods are in Primm , with a rogue named Tyrone. We also learn that Melissa is his daughter... We tell Lewis that we shot down the Deathclaws, even killed the mother. But he replies that as long as the father—the alpha male—is alive, our exploits are useless.
We head to Primm, or rather, to the outskirts. There, in one of the NCR tents, we find Tyrone. He tries to evade us. But using either our eloquence or bartering skills, we persuade him, and he gives us the goods. We can go back, or (as suggested) we can rat on Tyrone to the local commander, Lieutenant Hayes. I didn't inform on him (there would be a small reward, fame, and honor in the NCR), and returned to Melissa. On the way, I had to endure a second, equally difficult battle with Deathclaws. This time, the alpha male was killed. Melissa takes the goods, and we gain good relations with the Great Khans, plus a pile of goods.
We return to Sloane, tell Lewis about our success in the fight against the Deathclaws, and he will thank us well. The quest is complete.
