Fallout Tactics: BoS → Junction City
General Decker will give orders to redeploy to the southwest, to Bunker Delta. This medium-sized town has piqued the Brotherhood's interest with rumors of its inhabitants' heroic victory over a combat robot. This all seems like bravado, but nevertheless, it is necessary to recover the remains of this "potential enemy" so that Brotherhood technicians can identify its weak points. Apparently, we are facing a major war with the mechanical soldiers, and we need to gather as much information as possible about them.
The townspeople likely scattered the robot's remains to their hovels, and you'll need to thoroughly search the town without getting into any conflicts. The mayor might be able to help, as Junction City is having trouble with a gang of Reavers who have appeared in the area, also interested in rumors of a broken robot. Another task is to notify the town mechanic that a position has opened up for her in the Brotherhood.
So, you're at the town's southern gate. Ideally, you should first go see the mayor at Town Hall, located in the north (there's a huge sign above it, so you can't go wrong). The mayor will offer to give you one of the broken robot's parts if you deal with the Reavers. The mayor's assistant, a lady in red standing in the next room, will tell you where to look for the missing parts. But since you're already in the south, it's best to head southwest to a lonely shack. Near the shack, you'll have a small fight with a group of Reavers.
The bandits weren't particularly kind to the lucky owner of one of the parts, simply killing him. They hauled the sought-after piece of hardware to their temporary camp in the northeast of the map. I'll have to pay him a visit. It must be said that after the super mutants, the Reavers are easy to take out. True, they're armed with some pretty good weapons, including laser and plasma rifles, but you still need to know how to use them, right? Engage fire at long range with sniper rifles, and this gang won't be able to do anything about you.
Now, without delay, head to the mayor's residence. If you start wandering around the city and taking in the local sights, a group of Reavers will "book" an appointment with the mayor, and the mayor himself might not survive. It's best not to wait for the bandits to start shooting at the townspeople, but to preemptively clear out the entire gang. Exit through the northern gate and slowly move east toward the mansion where the reavers have built their nest.
Take your time, as the terrain here is quite rugged and the reavers are hiding in ambush, jumping out from behind the rocks at any moment. Near the mansion lies a dead boy, on whom you'll find the key to the inner door (it's booby-trapped, by the way).
A commander in red armor with a machine gun is hiding behind the door, but he can be pretty well damaged through the cracks in the wall. On the workbench nearby is one of the robot parts. Be careful in the barn: there's a machine gunner lurking behind the logs.
Collect some loot and return to the mayor, who will give you the second robot part. You'll find the third on the counter of a local merchant in the shop to the east—you need to buy it. The bartender at the local pub has the fourth part. He's not very fond of the Brotherhood of Steel, to put it mildly, and will only offer to gamble away the desired part. You'll lose either way. It's actually very simple here. Wear him down and talk to him until he gives you the piece of metal, just so you can leave.
Not far from the south gate, some homeless guy named Chuck will try to sell you something like a vibrator, masquerading as another robot part. Bring this thing to the Brotherhood, and the whole bunker will laugh at you. Also there, by the south gate, a little further west, in a small house, you'll find Casey, the local mechanic. She'd love to move into the Brotherhood bunker, but she can't leave the wounded man lying on the table. All you need to do is heal the poor guy, and when you return to base, you'll find Casey already there.
There's another interesting spot in this location. In the northwest corner of the map, look for a staircase leading to the catacombs, home to several giant, boar-like rats and a ton of loot, including the game's most useless machine gun.
Next on the list is the Great Bend mission, but for a number of reasons, I'd recommend going to Coldwater first. Before you get into a hopeless war with robots, you have a chance to level up your team a bit to use energy weapons, which are most effective against mechanical soldiers. Moreover, after completing this mission, you'll be able to purchase your first set of energy armor. Next, we'll be heading to Coldwater.
