Portal 2 Walkthrough → Chapter 5: Escape
We follow Wheatley, completing simple tasks. It's important to note places where portals can be created. Our friend usually points them out. At the turret factory, we have one of the most important tasks: culling the entire conveyor belt of turrets. We try to remove the sample used for scanning. Unfortunately, this doesn't work, as without a sample, the scanning is performed from memory.
We carefully observe what happens if a turret fails the suitability test. It is sent for disposal. We return to the area where unusable turrets are discarded. We catch one before it goes down the garbage chute and insert it in place of the sample. We wait for the door to open and proceed further.
We begin the second major objective – disabling the neurotoxin generator. Having reached the main room, we look to the left corner, where white panels appear. We'll use these to create portals. When we ascended the elevator, a laser was visible on the right. We create a portal in its direction. Now we can burn out the generator's pipes. Having lowered the neurotoxin level, we return to Wheatley.
We pass through the enormous system and find ourselves in an unknown location. We climb the stairs and emerge onto the surface. If you look into the distance and slightly to the right, you'll see a huge flashing panel. We reach it by creating portals. We try to open the door and are disappointed to learn that it's a trap set by GlaDOS. We come face to face with her. We've successfully neutralized all her tricks, so we can easily deal with her. We connect Wheatley to the receiver. All that remains is to press the console button.
We create a portal on the wall next to it, then quickly on the opposite side, preventing the defense system from triggering. Having completed the command changeover, Wheatley was about to let us go. But that clearly wasn't part of his plan. After his betrayal, we set off on a long flight with GlaDOS.
