Fallout: New Vegas Walkthrough -> Nipton
Thanks to Caesar's Legion, little remains of the town of Nipton. Speak with Oliver Swanick at the entrance; he'll tell you about the lottery. Now go left into the store and talk to Bockscars, who came in second in the lottery. He'll tell you about what happened in Nipton.
Near the town's main building, you'll see a Caesar's Legion officer, Vulpes Inculta. If you don't start shooting, the legionnaires won't attack first. After speaking with him, head to the mayor's office. There, you'll have to deal with the dogs and search the area. You'll find a lot of useful items and a Worn Key, which will allow you to access the items in the basement. Head up to the second floor; there will be more nasty dogs there. Don't rush into searching the bodies; I recommend saving. One of the bodies will be rigged with explosives. After finishing on this floor, head upstairs. You'll reach the mayor's office. Here you can find a book that will boost your Science skill, magazines that temporarily boost your skills, and a few other useful items.
You can explore the other houses in town; you'll find a lot of junk, but be careful and be prepared to shoot as soon as you enter.
Once you're done here, you can head to Novac. Take the road in the east of Nipton. Enemies will attack you along the way. You'll also see a red cone on the road; it's mined. Be careful. Follow the marker to Novac.
After clearing the casino, return to Vicky. You'll find Beagle in the corner, ask him about the guy who shot you. You can also take the quest from him to find a new sheriff for Primm. This isn't a story quest. Sell everything you don't need and you're ready to move on. Our path leads to Novac .
