Characters from the Shipwrecked DLC
Walani
Is a character added to Don't Starve: Shipwrecked. A surfer with a lighthearted outlook on life.Standard stats:
1) Health - 120.
2) Hunger - 200.
3) Sanity - 200.
Features:
- Starts with a surfboard.
- Every time she rides a wave on her surfboard, she gains +1 Sanity.
- Dries faster and gets wet less.
- Loses Sanity 10% slower.
- Loses Hunger 20% faster.
Warly
Is a character added to Don't Starve: Shipwrecked. He is a chef with exquisite taste. His Hunger drains a little faster than other characters, but his maximum Hunger of 250 more than makes up for it.Standard stats:
1) Health - 150.
2) Satiation - 150.
3) Sanity - 200.
Features:
- Warli starts the game with a portable cauldron, in which you can cook food identical to a regular cauldron, and some dishes available only to him.
- His chef's bag allows you to preserve food longer (works like a thermal backpack).
- Receives 33% more satiety, sanity, and health from food cooked in a cauldron.
- Warli's satiety loss rate is 33% higher than other characters; he receives only 70% of satiety, sanity, and health from raw food, 80% from dried food, and 90% from food cooked over a fire.
- After eating new food, Warli remembers it for 1.75 days. Eating remembered food resets the countdown. Eating the same dish repeatedly will give 90% of both positive and negative bonuses. Subsequent consumptions of the remembered dish will give progressively smaller bonuses: 80%, 65%, 50%, 30%.
Wilbur
Is the monkey king. The third character added to Don't Starve: Shipwrecked in the "Wilbur vs. Vulcan" update.Unlocking
To unlock Wilbur, you need a Tarnished Crown, which has a small chance to drop from the sneaky primate. Then you need to find the king in the sea (Soggy Monkey) and put the crown on him. After that, Wilbur will drown in the sea and become available as a character.
Standard stats:
1) Health - 125.
2) Hunger - 175.
3) Sanity - 150.
Features:
- Wilbur is the monkey king: monkeys will not steal things. They also don't pick up items lying on the ground, except for hats (which they immediately put on) and those they can eat (like bananas or sweet potatoes).
- Monkeys collect resources growing around the monkey hut and throw them to you, even from a great distance.
- Moves at double speed. If you walk for more than three seconds without stopping,
- Wilbur starts running and moves on all fours.
- Produces manure every 2-5 days.
- Can throw manure (deals 10 damage per throw and stuns birds).
- Receives +10 sanity from eating raw and cooked bananas.
Cons:
- Wilbur is a monkey. Because of this, it is inconvenient for him to move on two legs. You should start running away from fast enemies early so that Wilbur has time to switch to a run, as he walks slower than other characters. He also swims slowly if he has to use an oar.
- Monkeys gather edible resources. This completely eliminates the possibility of replanting bushes, as they will collect berries immediately after generation, without waiting for them to fully ripen. This leads to rapid withering of the bush.
- Monkeys collect flowers, which makes it difficult to breed bees and collect honey.
- Uncontrolled collection of resources growing around the monkey hut. This is very helpful at the beginning of the game, but over time, especially if there are a lot of resources, the camp will begin to resemble a huge dump. Unfortunately, this is not only an aesthetic problem, because the more items on the screen, the more the frame rate drops.
Tips:
- Wilbur's main advantage is his immunity to the monkeys' attention.
By placing monkey huts around your camp, you can build a small army without fear of unexpected item theft. You can tame one monkey with a banana and confidently send it into battle. As soon as it takes damage, a whole swarm of other monkeys will rush to its aid.
Since monkeys collect resources from a large distance (approximately two game screens) and then throw them to Wilbur, you can place the monkey hut in any resource cluster, for example, limpets, shells, grass, or branches. As soon as they grow, the monkeys will begin collecting them and throwing them to Wilbur, even when out of sight. The main thing is to be careful: monkeys throw resources on the place where Wilbur stands, so you should beware of open flames.
Woodlegs
Is a character added to Don't Starve: Shipwrecked with the "Release the Quacken!" update.Unlocking
Woodlegs's cage is on a volcano; to open it, you need 3 keys:
- Iron Key (dropped by the Quacken).
- Golden Key (can be traded with Yaarminog).
- Bone Key (can be obtained from sea graves).
Standard stats:
1) Health - 150.
2) Satiation - 150.
3) Sanity - 120.
Advantages:
- Woodlegs is a pirate, and also a captain. From the very beginning of the game, he has the ability to create his own ship, the "Sailor's Tread", which is equipped with a boat cannon with infinite ammunition and a good margin of safety. In the "Seas the Day" update, his ship was sped up.
- At the beginning of the game, up to 4 treasures appear in the world, immediately marked on the map.
- His lucky hat creates a treasure on the map every 400 seconds; when creating a treasure, the pirate says, "My pirate senses are heightened." There is a 43% chance that 2-3 treasures will appear on the starting island at the start.
Disadvantages:
- His personal ship, the "Sailor's Steps," although equipped with a sail, is very slow. This significantly complicates map exploration. It also has no installation slots, making it unsuitable for fishing with a trawl net or sailing at night without a torch or bottle lantern.
- While on land, he loses sanity at a rate of 4.8 per minute.
Capabilities
- Since the "Sailor's Steps" has infinite ammunition, it is an excellent combat unit.
- The cannon destroys any object, for this reason it is indispensable for resource extraction without the use of tools. But you need to be careful, it can ignite flammable resources and irreversibly destroy non-renewable ones, such as a coral reef or coastal rock.
- The cannon fires very quickly, which contributes to the complete "annihilation" of everything within its radius. The cannon deals 50 damage per shot: if you choose the right strategy, bosses will burst like balloons. However, it is recommended to deliver the final blow manually, as there is a chance of losing all resources in the "flame of righteous fire."
- Knowing the location of the islands on which treasures are buried greatly simplifies navigation and finding a good island to establish a base. To find other treasures, you still need to find bottles with messages.
