Rescue President Kimball

Fallout: New Vegas Walkthrough -> Rescue President Kimball

Our task is to protect President Kibell from an assassination attempt. Use the Pip-Boy to head to Boulder City if you haven't yet unlocked Hoover Dam . From Boulder City, head directly east. Find Grant here and talk to him about your task. Now you'll have to wait a day, and the next day, talk to the ranger again. He'll tell you about the day's plans.

If you want to complete this quest the fastest way, follow the ranger to the observation deck and let Grant know you're ready. Wait for the helicopter to land and head to the stairs at the corner. There, you'll need to wait for the engineer to appear. Not having permission to access all parts of the dam will force you to use your eloquence; 50 Speech points will help you get past the guard standing by the stairs.

Wait for the engineer to leave and head to the helicopter. Looking at it, you'll discover a bomb. To disarm it, you'll need 50 points in Explosives or Repair. You can try pickpocketing the engineer and stealing his detonator. Afterward, return to Grant and tell him about the bomb you found.

The house always wins. Part seven

Now House needs you to plant the Redistribution Chip in the El Dorado Substation Control Room. If you've already opened the substation, use your Pip-Boy to teleport directly there. If not, head to Vault 11 and head west from there. Once there, go inside and activate the terminal on the right. NCR soldiers will appear; eliminate them. Now eliminate the rest outside the building.

Head to the Strip and the North Gate. Emily Ortal will approach you and ask you to plant a bug in House's network.

The moon comes out from behind the tower

You need to go to Lucky 38. There you'll find a staircase to the left of the casino. Climb it up to the VIP area. Activate the terminal behind the bar. Return to Emily and report your success.

Return to Mr. House and talk to him. Before deciding to side with House, finish all your business here; you won't be able to return. After you've finished, agree to fight for Hoover Dam .
