Colonel Shu asks you to assist Captain Curtis in investigating a data leak. After speaking with the captain, we go and question Corporal Sterling and Lieutenant Boyd about the suspicious events. From the former, we learn about a strange light at night in the airport control tower, and from the latter, we obtain a key to the tower after questioning about the burglars.
We wait until 1:00 AM and watch the tower entrance. As soon as Curtis enters (he's the spy and shouldn't notice you), we follow him in and, if we catch him transmitting data, shoot him on sight. We take the deactivation code from his body and return to Colonel Shu. Having learned that Curtis is a spy, he sends us to the monorail to check security. We, the main character, have about a minute to reach the monorail and defuse the bomb (explosives/science or code) hidden behind the train's ventilation grill. Otherwise, the train will leave with the bomb and blow up the monorail.
Note: There's a note in Curtis's office with the coordinates of a sniper position. A Scout sniper rifle can be found there.
Don't let the grass grow
Dr. Hildern needs the results of the research conducted in Vault 22. After speaking with the doctor, his assistant will ask you to find another mercenary, Keely, who was sent to the vault earlier. Let's head there.
They rigged Vault 22 with something, and now it looks like a botanical garden gone wild. If you have Repair Level 80, fix the elevator. Otherwise, descend to the lower levels and tinker with the overseer and security terminals to open the cave door (quite a treat). The terminal with the experiment information is on the fifth level, behind a locked door (hard). Keely is also on this level, in a cave. Rescue her and follow her to the second level. She'll offer to destroy the deadly spores in the vault. To do this, she's already pumped the gas into the lower-level rooms, and all we have to do is detonate it.
We go downstairs, enter the room where we downloaded the files, select a grenade from our weapon selection (although you can just fire it), throw it at the gas accumulation, and quickly close the door. We return to Keely and convince her (science) not to destroy the research data.
Headhunting
Major Datri needs the heads of the three most dangerous Imps:
1. Chief-Chief. Talk to the Little Brat, he'll tell you that Chief-Chief keeps a herd of brahmin and treats one of them very carefully. If anything happens to it, he'll go berserk and attack everyone indiscriminately. I recommend using a sniper rifle.
2. Driver Nefi. You can make your task easier by making a deal with Lieutenant Gorobets. Snipers will be positioned at the stone crushing plant, and all you have to do is lure Chief out to them.
3. Violet. You can find her at the Poseidon gas station.
The Search for White
The missing corporal was investigating the disappearance of water from the water mains. We spend most of the quest simply running from one NPC to another. When sent to Westside, there are several options to take down the follower: intelligence, good relations with the followers, or through the boy. We agree not to tell the NCR about the water theft (good reputation with the followers) and report to the colonel that White has disappeared on the Strip.
Healing
Lieutenant Gorobets wants someone (you) to convince Corporal Betsy to undergo treatment for psychological trauma. You need to speak with Betsy and try to persuade her through eloquence or medicine. If that doesn't work, talk to the rest of the squad. Once you have their approval for the treatment, return to the Corporal and tell her about it.
Quests not marked in the journal
1. Assistance to Lieutenant Boyd. The NCR has captured one of the Legion commanders alive and needs your help interrogating him. Intelligence 8 or Speech is required.
2. Missing Ranger Anderson. Colonel Shu has sent one of the Rangers to assassinate the leader of the Imps. Head to the third shelter and rescue the ranger (the room is in the living quarters, not far from the emergency exit leading to the shelter entrance). Convince him to return to McCarran, then head to the technical rooms and kill the Motorcyclist. In this shelter, you can also rescue squatters and obtain weapons by opening a passage to the flooded rooms from the Overseer's terminal.
3. Problems in the Kitchen. The local cook will ask you to repair the food synthesizer (repair 80 or spare parts), and also negotiate with the Red Caravan to supply meat in exchange for surplus vegetables.
4. Smuggling. Help the quartermaster with a few simple errands, and he'll unlock a special item for you.
