Spider Queen | Don't Starve

Don't Starve Walkthrough → Spider Queen

Killing the Spider Queen without armor is possible if you set a few traps for the spawning minions beforehand. However, the boss can completely drain your sanity in 30 seconds, so it's important to keep some distance during the fight.

How to kill the spider queen?
  1. Swamp Tentacles. If you happen to be near a swamp, lead the boss there to the tentacles, which attack anything that moves within their territory. Expect to lose 3-5 tentacles during the kill.
  2. Beefalo. If you can find a Beefalo pasture in a Savannah biome and bring the queen close enough to at least one animal, the entire herd will defend its fellow, unleashing all its might on the enemy. Additionally, Beefalo won't eat the meat left by spiders, unlike pigs. The downside is that Beefalo don't use the hit-and-run-and-hit tactic, so the Spider Queen can stand still and kill at least 3-4 Beefalo on her own.
  3. Bees. Lure the Spider Queen into the hives of bees and killer bees, which have the same "pig-like" hit-and-run tactic. When a killer bee attacks the Spider Boss, and it reciprocates, all the insects in the hive will begin to attack. It's also entirely possible to craft a Beeminer by first catching insects with a net and releasing them near the Spider Queen. Beeminers are an additional way to force bees to attack her, despite the fact that they are expensive to create and don't provide much benefit.
  4. Lureflower. With a nearby meat-producing Decoy Plant, it's possible to lure the Spider Queen and her delegation to this plant. A large number of eyeballs will attack any spiders, including the main monster, as soon as they come within range. With the ability to regenerate, the eyeballs will continue to deal damage as long as the Spider Queen is nearby. Also, considering that the Decoy Plant can't attack or defend itself, unlike its eyes, it's essentially an endless turret. The eyeballs will continue to respawn after the Spider Boss and Warrior Spiders are defeated. The only downside is that after the battle, the player will have to destroy the Decoy Plant to collect the loot.
  5. Gunpowder. The enemy can be easily taken out if you freeze them with an ice staff and place 5 gunpowder near the victim, then set the trap on fire and finish off the Queen with a spear. If you set 6 pieces of gunpowder on fire, all you will collect afterwards will be ashes and cooked monster meat, as everything will simply burn. Good luck in battles and don't starve!
  6. Blow Darts. One of the easiest ways to defeat the Spider Queen. Craft 13 Blow Darts, each with 100 damage, and fire them at the boss as quickly as possible, preventing her or her spiders from getting to you.
  7. Pigs. Bring the boss to a pig settlement and let them kill her. Thanks to the pigs' hit-and-run tactics, they're quite capable of dealing with the queen without getting hit by the spiders that spawn. The longer the spiders leave the pigs alone, the faster they'll kill the queen, so it's a good idea to give them a little help with the spear to clear out the loose change. This method also prevents your character's sanity from being severely depleted.
