Deciduous Forest: A resource-rich biome with its own creatures and structures.
Common features include: chestnut birch trees, glommer statues, king pigs, sinkholes, pig houses, berry bushes (plentiful), mushrooms (plentiful), saplings, and boulders.
Common features include: moleworms, raccoon cats, pigs and fireflies (plentiful), and glommers.
Loot includes: meat, chestnuts, berries, raccoon cat tails, glommer slime/wings, pan flutes, rocks/nuggets, saplings, mushrooms, and flowers.
Living near or in this biome is beneficial due to the proximity of King Pig (you can always trade junk for nuggets), the large number of berries and mushrooms (easy to cook and maintain sanity), fireflies (helmet fuel), and the beneficial partnership with pigs (they'll help you chop down trees and kill leaf treants if necessary).
Chestnut Birch – Generates only in deciduous forests and has several growth stages and flowers depending on the season. Chopping down large birch trees drops chestnuts (edible if roasted) and has a chance to activate a boss – a leaf treant (it doesn't appear in winter).
Raccoon Cat – Neutral creature. Lives in hollow stumps, catching small animals. Each raccoon cat has nine lives, after which it stops respawning. Can be tamed temporarily with fish. When tamed, it can regurgitate certain items (such as feathers, webs, and small creatures). When killed, it drops meat and a tail of the same name.
Moleworm – A peaceful creature. Each moleworm has its own burrow. They steal any stones lying on the ground (including warming stones, nuggets, ash, gears, and items from graves). To pick one up alive for crafting, leave bait and stun it with a hammer blow.
Glommer – Can be obtained as a pet by picking up a flower near the Glommer statue during a full moon. While the flower is in the inventory, it will follow the character. Grants a sanity bonus if you stand close, and drops slime every two days. If killed, it will respawn near the statue on the next full moon. When killed, it drops wings, which can be used to craft a bell, and awards 50 mischief points, which summons a Krampus.
Bell – Crafted from Glommer wings and a flower. When used, it summons a shadow of a foot (at the location where the character is standing when the bell rings), which descends after a few seconds and deals 1000 damage. Each bell can be used three times. The recipe is obtained with a pickaxe from a Glommer statue.
