The Birchnut Treeguard is very different from the regular tree: It is still a tree, meaning it does not move and can only be killed with an axe (cut down) or fire (burn).

It attacks the player with a root that emerges from the ground like a tentacle. It summons 1-5 Birchnut Treeguard minions. While they are quite weak alone, they pose a serious threat in a pack. If you plant a chestnut tree near it (usually one is enough), it does not calm down (like the Spruce Treeguard), but rather transforms into a regular birch tree.

When killed, this tree drops living logs, with a chance to drop Dread Fuel and chestnuts.
