Don't Starve Walkthrough → Woodie
Woodie is the seventh character in the game. He wields a talking axe, Lucy, which has no durability and chops down trees twice as fast as usual. This might seem like a good thing, but if the character chops down too many trees despite the axe's warning...
Woodie also transforms into a beaver during a full moon. While in beaver form, Woodie gains new abilities and weaknesses.
If you enter the dungeon and exit after transforming back into Woodie, Lucy will appear in your inventory. Lucy is added to your inventory again after completing Maxwell's portal (All's Well That Maxwell).
He is Canadian by descent. The reaction to a filled chest is "It's already packed tighter than a Toronto streetcar" and to an open sinkhole is "It looks like Sudbury down there."

Interesting facts
- The phrase "I love Lucy!" may be a reference to the TV series of the same name.
- Judging by his lines, he suffers from ornithophobia (fear of birds).
- Also, judging by his lines, he suffers from an allergy to grass.
- He cannot shave his beard. He comments that real lumberjacks don't shave.
- If you manage to satisfy your tree hunger when the beaver turns back into Woody, the latter will remain in beaver form and will be completely invulnerable until you re-enter the world. This way, you can collect the necessary amount of resources at the very beginning of the game.
- If you don't have time to satisfy your hunger, no problem. When the beaver falls to the ground, exit the game and come back. Instead of the beaver, you will find Woody with full health, satiety, and intelligence. But keep in mind that Woody will not appear in the morning, but at the same time as the beaver fell.
- During the battle, Woody shouts the phrase: "Get over here, eh!". This may be a reference to the famous phrase of Scorpion from the game series "Mortal Kombat".
- Pigs left without a home, run after Woody the beaver at night, saying: "Fire is good" and so on. This can be explained by the beaver's night vision.
- Woody's voice is a cello; Lucy "plays" the clarinet.
