Sealnado | Don't Starve

Don't Starve Walkthrough → Sealnado

Characteristics of Sealnado:

  • Hit Points: 3000.
  • Damage: 150.
  • Sanity: -100/min.
  • Cannot be frozen.
  • Cannot be put to sleep.

The Sealnado is a true sailor's bane! It resembles a raging tornado, capable of following the player both in the ocean and on land.

You can kill it with two spear strikes and then running away, but I recommend using a Volcanic Staff due to the pain involved. As for flaming loot, the Sealnado leaves nothing useful except a propeller for the boat.

To fight the monster, you'll need good armor or several sets of wooden helmets and football helmets. It's best to kill it after the Kryaken, having obtained the Thulecite Set (crown, armor).

I still recommend a volcanic staff—easier, lighter, and more reliable. Another way to defeat the slug is to lead him to an animal settlement (tall birds, beefalo, primates). At least you'll have time to shoot the Sealnado with ranged weapons (staves, darts). As for killing him on the water, speed and a reliable boat should be a priority.

After the battle, the monster drops propellers, which can be used to craft a Boat engine. A Peaceful Seal pet is also left behind. Killing it will yield a Magic Seal, which can be used to craft a Seafarer's Staff and a Howling Conch.
