Kraken, the lord of the abyss, appears only at sea if you throw a lot of unnecessary things into the ocean (theoretically). He doesn't deal any damage himself, but he summons tentacles and raises waves that damage your boat. The boss fight involves finding Kraken's head and destroying it with a spear, bat, or machete. Armor isn't important here, as if you don't bother with the tentacles, you'll mostly be repairing your boat (it's best to take 1-2 sets). Therefore, a regular boat with a sail (or even without one) is useful for quick travel and avoiding tentacle waves.

The only problem you might encounter is the decrease in sanity due to getting wet. If you frequently get hit by waves and delay killing the mob, your sanity will rapidly approach 0, even after defeating Kraken. You'll have to quickly find dry land and boost your sanity with something.

 

Craken's characteristics:

Health: 1000. Damage: 0. Cannot be frozen. Cannot be put to sleep.


Tentacle parameters:

Health: 600. Damage: 10. Cannot be frozen. Cannot be put to sleep.


It's worth noting that Valani, with her surfboard, can be quite suitable for battles that require speed. There's no point in attacking from a distance, as the boss itself is harmless and the waves will interfere. Wendy's Ghost is only effective at night (with 40 damage), as it'll be a long shot with 10 damage during the day, especially since Kraken periodically dives and resurfaces in a different location.

Important information

After defeating the monster, a chest will appear containing items: Thulecite Armor, a Mace, a Crown, a Volcanic Staff, a clothing blueprint, and one of three keys to free Woodlegs from his cage on the volcano. The second can be obtained from the Octopus, and the third can be caught with a fishing rod in the ocean. Despite its terrifying appearance, Kraken is the easiest boss in SW. What do you think?
