Sapling - Often found in forests and clearings. When harvested, you'll get a single branch. You can dig it up with a shovel for replanting. No fertilizer is required after transplanting. It burns in a fire.
Grass - Commonly found in savannas and clearings. When harvested, you'll receive one bunch of grass. It can be dug up with a shovel and moved to another location for planting. Fertilizer is required for it to regrow after being moved. It burns in a fire. A transplanted bunch of grass dries out after several harvests and requires fertilizer.
Berry Bush - Found in a number of biomes, most commonly in forests. Harvesting yields one handful of berries. They can also be dug up with a shovel for replanting. Fertilizer is required for the bush to regrow after being replanted. Burns in a campfire. A replanted bush will dry out after several harvests and will require fertilizer.
Reeds - Found only in swamps. When harvested, you'll receive one bunch of reeds. They burn in a campfire. Reeds cannot be dug up with a shovel and replanted closer to camp.
Flowers - Found in a number of biomes, primarily in forests and clearings. Harvesting them will yield petals and increase your sanity by 5. They can be eaten, restoring one health point. They are common, especially near wild beehives. They can be used as fuel. To plant a new flower, you need a butterfly, which must be caught with a net and "planted" in the ground. Flowers are also pollinated by bees, making catching these insects easier. Flowers can be crafted into a wreath, which increases sanity.
Trees - Can be found almost anywhere, except in the swamp biome. Chopping a tree with an axe will drop logs and cones, leaving a stump that can be dug out with a shovel. They can burn; chopping down a burnt tree will drop charcoal.
Evil Flower - Found around Maxwell's portal parts, near Maxwell's door, and around a perfectly normal tree. Collecting them drains 5 Sanity, and eating their petals drains another 5 Sanity. The only known use for these flowers is to create Dread Fuel. They were added in the "A Little Rain Must Fall" update.
Marble Tree - This isn't really a plant. It's found near Maxwell's portal and in Adventure Mode. It can be broken with a pickaxe to obtain marble.
A perfectly normal tree – a very ordinary tree. It grows in the forest biome, usually surrounded by evil flowers. It can be chopped down with an axe, yielding two living logs.
The Thorny Bush is the swamp equivalent of the Sapling. Harvesting branches from it causes the character to lose health. It can be dug up with a shovel. It does not require fertilizer when replanting. It leaves ash when burned.
Thorn Tree - A type of tree found only in swamps. It does not grow and produces no seeds. When cut down, it drops branches.
Mushrooms are a plant species added in the "A Little Rain Must Fall" update. Once harvested, they respawn only after rain. They can be dug up with a shovel, but doing so will prevent them from respawning. There are three types: red, green, and blue.
Knotty spruce - The same spruce, but it doesn't produce cones.
Plant - Just a plant that grows near ponds.
Lureflower - A carnivorous plant introduced in the "It's Not a Rock!" update. It appears on the surface.
