Vault 0

Fallout Tactics: BoS → Vault 0

After the gates were blown open (injuring at least one cow), you find your squad already inside the underground complex. To reach the Calculator, you need to use the elevator. But the explosion knocked out the storage facility's power system, and you need to restore it. In the meantime, you can talk to your colleagues holding the line in the elevator lobby and doing a little trading.

War is war, but business is business. Your map isn't working yet, and to fix this, you need to work the terminal located here. Immediately after that, the door will open and a horde of robots will attack. You can't get straight to the energy block, so you can only open the door to the security sector.

Obviously, you can't send a single soldier to open that door. The security block, besides the huge number of robots, has a lot of interesting things. Don't try to open the locked door to the room with two turrets and crates: it opens from the terminal in the next room. Look for another terminal, which should give you access to the Cryogenics block. There, security bots are in full swing, so numerous that they'll attack you in almost perfect formation, firing volleys of laser cannons. Weapons of mass destruction are welcome.

After killing all the aggressive robotics, you will find several lobotomized inhabitants of the storage facility and on a torn to shreds corpse you can pick up the head of one of the scientists.

It's needed for the identification procedure before the door to the Power Block. However, that door can also be opened from the terminal near the dismembered scientist. Behind the locked door to the room with the lockers lies a serious ambush. Incidentally, the turrets, which for some reason aren't working, contain 5,250 rounds of .50-caliber ammunition (each). The Browning M2 ammunition issue has been completely solved. If only it had the appropriate carrying capacity. Either way, the road leads to the storage unit's Power Block.

True, the security system is activated there, but you don't even need to delve into all the details that General Decker will periodically inform you of. Just work the two terminals in the room behind the large hall with the green stuff (it's a good idea to stay away from it), and then get going. There's no point in talking about where the robots are or how many there are. They're everywhere and there are a lot of them. In a corridor full of walking, crawling, and flying iron things, you need to use "science" on three terminals to activate energy nodes.

Hooray! You can head to the elevator that will take you to Calculator's lair. Return to the starting point and, after turning on the remote, get a green square, symbolizing your departure to the main citadel.

Opening the first door into the large hall means a serious brawl with a bunch of robots. Commanding this entire gang will be... General Barnaky. Or rather, his brain, which Calculator's henchmen removed from his body and transplanted into something mechanical with over 500 HP. But don't rush to shoot your former commander.

If you have his medallion with you, you won't have to fight the general. Clear the room and continue on.

Be careful, there are four turrets on the bridge. Now you'll be visiting the Calculator. It's a computer that enhances its mental capabilities using human brains. However, the cybernetic creature won't grant you an audience and will shield itself with an armored shield. Removing the shield will require a bit of running around.

In the room with the Calculator, there are three doors leading to three appendices containing brains. To remove the shield, you must destroy all three brains. But don't try to open the doors with lockpicks: shoot the brain-containing vessels in the room, and the first door will open for your team. Take out the robot squad and two turrets, and after disabling the force field, destroy the first brain. Its destruction will open the second door. And so on, until the third is destroyed.

After which, you can go chat with the person who started this whole mess. The calculator, in a sweet female voice and without the slightest embarrassment, will tell you that since you've destroyed its "RAM," it needs a necessary upgrade.

The game has four endings:

1) If you destroy the Calculator, there will be total devastation.

2) If you use the General's brain, there will be destruction of mutants and dissidents.

3) If you use the hero's brain or someone else in the squad, there will be peace, prosperity, and preparation for war with the West.

4) The fourth option is achieved by waiting the allotted time (60 seconds) without giving up the brains or destroying the computer.
