Osceolla

Fallout Tactics: BoS → Osceolla

The hiding place of the Super Mutant leader named Gammorin has been discovered, and your team is ordered to eliminate him. The missing General Barnaky is likely to be found in Gammorin's camp. You start in a concealed position, and there are a couple of crates nearby. One contains mines, and the other contains medical kits. Well, I hope you won't get to the latter, but the former could really come in handy.

The thing is, patrols are prowling on both sides of your position, heading toward the enemy base. Moreover, true to the drill and guard duty regulations, they follow the same route. If you carefully plant a bomb in their path, you can seriously damage their health. These brutes are so thick-skinned that a mine will only seriously injure them. If you want to inflict maximum damage, plant several mines on the spot and set a remote detonator, turning the whole thing into a powerful radio-controlled explosive device.

However, you can simply shoot these blockheads without having to stage a special operation to eliminate three bodybuilders. Coordinated fire from sniper rifles, backed by the terrifying Browning M2 (if anyone manages to get too close), will make mincemeat of them.

The map suggests a clever way to penetrate the base perimeter—through an underground passage. This is, of course, a setup. At first, you'll stomp through a green mess, and then, after climbing a vertical ladder, you'll walk right into an ambush. Therefore, it's best to launch a full-scale military operation and gradually clear the base, moving through the main entrance.

Outside the base's perimeter, two green blockheads with machine guns are languishing on a tower. You can take one out with a sniper rifle, but the other will lie prone, and if you want to kill him, you'll have to climb up. Just keep in mind that going to "visit" them will require crossing a minefield.

Now you'll need to climb down to a small underground level, where the leader is located. There are two staircases leading down, but it's best to take the one in the northwest. In one of the rooms, two mutants have set up an ambush, surrounded by gas cylinders. Without sticking your head out, shoot at any explosive container, and all that's left for you to do is search the pockets of two fried corpses.

After talking to one of the battered mutants, who will tell you that the general isn't here, you'll have to carry out your orders. There are only two rooms left, but the security in them is the heaviest. Just around the corner, a mutant with a flamethrower lurks, and a machine gunner is crouched behind the bar. In the central room, besides the leader and another mutant who will pop out from the left, stands a former colleague, the paladin Latham.

But in this situation, he's on the enemy side, and you'll have to take him down along with everyone else. Once it's over, you'll receive confirmation of mission completion.

In the same room, you'll find an unidentified briefcase in a chest. Grab it, and the Brotherhood's techies will determine that it's a miniature nuclear charge. Another interesting spot in this location is the airship crash site to the north, near which some rather aggressive guy lives. Three crates nearby contain Stimpaks. The ruins to the northeast, in the corner of the map, contain nothing of interest, and you can, as always, collect the trophies and head back to base. Repel the attack on the Junction City.
