Mardin

Fallout Tactics: BoS → Mardin

The leadership has discovered a Beastlord lair, and your team will need to conduct a raid to destroy the "nest." Another objective in the upcoming mission will be to discover how the Beastlords control the beasts. It's clear that a lair is called a lair for a reason, and that's why all the action is located in the underground camp, which can be reached in three ways. The best one is through a hole in the ground in the northwest of the map.

For now, we need to clear out all the patrols on the surface, which have even been reinforced by, if I may say so, "aircraft." Shoot the bastards and move forward. The most serious crowd is in the cemetery (where there are still pools of radioactive green gunk). Watch out for an ambush behind the stone fence. Now you can climb down through the chasm.

The other two options aren't the best, as descending either of the two ladders (another ladder leads to a crypt with insects) will put you in the thick of enemies, and you won't escape without getting wounded. Move forward through the cave, shooting the bugs, and when you reach the balcony with the vertical ladder, watch out for a pair of small deathclaws below.

Climb further and you'll find yourself in the local menagerie, where about four more horned cuties are sitting behind bars. A switch nearby opens the cell doors. Activate defensive mode and don't shoot them, as the little creatures will fight for you. This doesn't apply to the "jailers," of course. Further on, you'll come to a large enclosure containing a huge Dethclaw. Don't shoot her under any circumstances!

Better yet, after defeating the guards, open the door and talk to the monster. Meet Mama, a rather freedom-loving creature. Now that you've granted her freedom, she'll saunter into the adjacent "throne room" to tear the locals to shreds. All the Dethclaw babies are now on your side, and you'll have much less clearing to do.

The "emperor" of the Beastlords has dug himself into the "throne room," but he's quite frail and shouldn't be feared. Clear out the remaining rooms and don't forget to unlock the cells with the prisoners in one of the corridors. There should be plenty of loot.

You can swap out some hunting rifles for M1 Garands, which are slightly more powerful at the same range. However, ammo for this weapon is always in short supply, so divide it between one or two soldiers. There will be plenty of other loot, too—you won't return to base empty-handed. Behind the "emperor" throne is a chest containing $10,000. Don't rush to spend it all, as you'll need it later in the mission. Visit the head of the "HR department" in the bunker—you won't regret it.

By the way, your team has been ordered to move again, this time to Bunker Gamma. The next location is St. Louis.
