Macomb

Fallout Tactics: BoS → Macomb

The Brotherhood is expanding its presence in the region, and the leadership is faced with the challenge of protecting communications. All sorts of gangs, eager to steal others' property, roam the surrounding mountains and valleys. The town of Macomb has become particularly dangerous, with all manner of riffraff robbing every passing convoy. This chaos must end, and your team is dispatched to restore order on the highway.

Before you even arrive, you'll receive a brief orientation and be gifted an armored Hummer. This jeep, which can accommodate your entire six-person team, is yours to use permanently. Take care of it and repair it as needed.

Load your gang into the car, and now you'll be able to pick off enemies in complete comfort and relative safety. At least you don't have to worry about positioning your fighters while facing automatic weapons or shotguns. Let's go!

The bandits have set up several posts at the closed gates in the town. We drive up to the first gate, fire a couple of volleys at the bandits lurking in the building to the right, and then drop a soldier off the jeep to collect the loot and pull the switch inside the building. The first gate is open.

We put the man back in and accelerate to the gate, sweeping the militant crowd off the surrounding rooftops. The switch to open the gate is behind a locked door, and you'll find the key in a chest on the roof of the northwest building, where a rifleman was hiding behind some sandbags. A starving raider sitting by the gate to the right will also tell you about this key. Without receiving food from your men, he'll open fire.

But beyond the second gate, a serious ambush awaits. A pair of bandits are hiding behind the sandbags, one of whom is armed with a grenade launcher. Another guy throwing grenades is hiding inside the building. To minimize damage to the car, you need to act quickly.

Floor the gas and approach the ambush at full speed, ensuring that even your weakest riflemen can fire effectively. The main thing is to prevent the grenade launcher from firing at the jeep and, if you're lucky, to quickly take out the grenade thrower. Now, when you send a soldier to press the third switch, send him to the library just to the south.

A "bookworm" lives there, quite nervous, I must say, because some scumbags stole his glasses. Near the fourth gate, some townspeople will rush the jeep and start pelting the Hummer with rocks. Take them out. The switch that opens the fourth gate is in the building on the left, on a small balcony. Funny, but this is the courthouse. It's best to eliminate the three people in the courtroom from the second floor, as there's an interior balcony there.

After opening the fourth gate, don't rush to drive the car any further. Carefully advance your soldier forward, and as soon as he sees the planted mine, order him to shoot it from a safe distance (ctrl+right mouse button).

Once the mines stop popping up, you can hop back into the Hummer and continue the fun you were distracted from. Just don't miss the building with the spilled green gunk. There, in addition to a couple of fighters, you can find a chest with glasses. Take them to the librarian and, after trading them, you'll receive a small manual on mines and other traps (a rare quest that doesn't involve bloodshed).

You don't even have to open the fifth and final gate, as you can go around the building and drive down a side street. Shoot the bandits and barricades, but be careful at the end. A guy with a grenade launcher is lying on a small balcony, almost a ledge. Send your fighter there to steal the rocket launcher and give the last bandit a good beating. Collect the loot, load your team into the Hummer, and drive the jeep to the green exit strip. Before Quincy, it's best to stop by Preoria.
