Fallout Tactics: BoS → Kansas City
Your squad's next task is to secure a settlement of ghouls dancing around an atomic bomb they've swiped from who knows where. But super mutants want to lay their hands on this treasure, and Bishop, the ghoul leader, has finally realized he'll have to make a choice: life or the bomb. The Brotherhood of the Nuclear Warhead offers protection.
So, gather your forces and head to the location—the large building where all this crowd is located. As soon as you reach the western gate, don't just stand there; get your men into position as quickly as possible, as the super mutants are about to attack. You can plant a couple of mines before the first wave of attackers (there are four of them right there, in a crate).
Besides the western gate, where your squad is currently stationed, there are also gates to the north and south. The least dangerous area will be the northern side, because, in addition to the militia, the mines planted there will help hold back the onslaught. However, the other two directions will be difficult. Such a crowd of blockheads will press on you that it's best to switch the game to turn-based mode. At the very least, the ghouls covering the gate will almost certainly be eliminated (their corpses will have several sniper rifles on them).
Once the attack is repelled, you'll receive a new mission: find and eliminate three Super Mutant commanders who have taken up residence nearby (their locations are shown on the map). So assemble a team and begin clearing the southern half of the map. After my men repelled the Mutant attacks, the Heavy Weapons Specialist leveled up just in time. You need to get the Heavy Weapons perk or have a Strength of 9 or higher, and then you'll grab the Browning M2!
A Super Mutant flies away in one or two bursts! A point-blank burst is a guaranteed kill! My machine gunner, dressed in a "spacesuit," stopped hiding and ducking. He kicked down doors and mowed down Super Mutants. I cleared all the buildings practically single-handedly. Overall, top recommendations.
In the house to the southeast, where one of the commanders is holed up, search the chests; you'll find the most powerful automatic shotgun in the game. Especially if you use purple ammo, which has an armor-piercing effect. At close range, a mutant will be taken down in one or two bursts.
To the east of the map is an abandoned airfield with an American Wildcat and a Japanese Zero. They're local landmarks. The guardhouse contains a Tommy Gun and ammo. Once you've cleared the sector, talk to Bishop, and in a few seconds you'll receive confirmation of mission completion. All that's left to do is collect the loot and exit the area. Now, Osceola and the mutant leader.
