Fallout. New Vegas: Dead Money

Fallout: New Vegas Walkthrough -> Fallout. New Vegas: Dead Money

Below is a list of quests and their walkthroughs.

Sierra Madre Grand Opening!

Given by:  Starts automatically after loading the game with the add-on.

The first quest of the add-on. There's nothing special to do. Just load the game with the add-on, and after a while, a new radio signal will be added to your Pip-Boy, inviting you to the Sierra Madre Casino.

Go to the Abandoned BOS Bunker (slightly south of Camp Forlawn Hope). Be careful, you won't be able to return to the Mojave Desert until you've completed all the DLC quests.

Approach the radio in the middle of the room. You'll fall to the floor, and the DLC's opening cinematic will begin. Then, former BOS Elder  Elijah will speak to you . During the conversation, you'll discover you're wearing a collar, which can explode at any moment if you disobey. After speaking with the elder, three quests will automatically begin:  Find Collar 8: "Dog ,  " Find Collar 14: Dean Domino  , and  Find Collar 12: Christine . You can complete them in any order.

Find Collar 8: “Dog”

Given by:  Father Elijah.

Reward:  560 XP (experience points), the ability to recruit Dog as a companion.

After speaking with Elijah, this quest automatically becomes active.

Go to the Villa Police Station . When you enter the building, your collar will start beeping (this is the explosive timer). To avoid being blown up, turn off the four radios; everything is shown in the screenshots. You can leave them on.

There's nothing more to do in this room. To the left of the entrance is a staircase leading to the  Villa Police Station Basement . Go down there. The collar will start beeping again. Move forward boldly, opening all the doors.

A little secret:  in the very first room where the terminal is, climb up the small ladder onto the boxes and you'll see two magazines and a detoxin.

So, you've reached the final room. It contains a radio (turn it off, it's the one interfering with the collar) and a  Dog Command Tape . That's what we came here for. Grab the tape and head upstairs to the super mutant's cage. Stand next to the cage and activate the tape with your Pip-Boy. The super mutant will start talking. Talk to him and release him from the cage (Hack 35, needed for the conversation branch). Once freed, the quest will complete, you'll receive 560 experience points and a super mutant as your companion.

Find Collar 14: Dean Domino

Given by:  Father Elijah.

Reward:  560 XP (experience points), the ability to recruit Dean Domino as a partner.

So, we've recruited Dog. The quest  Find Collar 14: Dean Domino automatically starts . Follow the marker to the  Residential District door . Enter it. Now we need to find  Dean Domino . So, reach the end of the yellow line and go up to the third floor. Sit in the chair next to the ghoul with glasses. Talk to him and persuade him to go to the fountain. That's it, the quest is complete, we receive 560 experience points.

Find Collar 12: Christine

Given by:  Father Elijah.

Reward:  660 XP (experience points), the ability to take Christine as a partner.

The last partner left is  Christine . Head to  the Medical District , which is very close to the fountain.

Warning:  The explosive timer can't be disabled now. Keep moving, or you risk being blown up. Enter the hospital (there's another suitcase with useful loot just to the left of the entrance). Loot everything you can, including the Assassin's suit on the first floor. A hologram awaits on the second floor. If you approach it, it will start shooting (it itself cannot be killed). Quickly run to the blue emitter on the second floor, hanging in the middle of the hallway, and disable it. Search the table in the room opposite the emitter and take the key. Go down to the basement, opening it with the key you found. Approach the terminal and press the "  Disengage Main Power" button . Climb up and follow the hallway to the last room with the autodoc. Open it and see a crippled girl who can't speak. Talk to her (a bit of a paradox, though) and convince her to go to the fountain. That's it, the quest is complete, and we earn 660 experience points. Before leaving, I highly recommend healing up at the AutoDoc—it'll restore all your HP and heal any broken limbs. You'll also get an achievement for collecting all your companions.

Fires in the Sky

Given by:  Father Elijah.

Reward:  800 XP (experience points).

Talk to  Elijah . After the conversation, three quests will automatically start:  Fires in the Sky, Strike Up the Band, and Mixed Signals . Fires in the Sky will be the first quest on the list  . Go with the super mutant to  Salida del Sol South.

In the room with the switches, he'll start talking to us. We convince him to stay near the switches, but here's the problem—the super mutant doesn't understand a word! We play the same holotape we played in the Police Station ( Dog Command Tape ) from the Pip-Boy. From here, we have two options:

If your Intelligence is 7 or higher, select the appropriate dialogue option. That's it, the quest is complete.

If we're lacking intelligence, talk to  Dog  , and he asks us to bring you the remains of two  Ghost People . Three markers appear, but we only need two. Go to any marker and kill two enemies. Take the meat from them and bring it  to Dog . The quest is completed, and we receive 800 experience points.

Strike Up the Band

Given by:  Father Elijah.

Reward:  800 XP (experience points).

In this quest, we need to take  Dean Domino  to  Puesta del Sol South . Talk to him near the fountain and recruit him as a companion (dialogue option: "I think we should travel together"). Follow the map to  Puesta del Sol North .

Now we have two options:

Convince him to stay. To do this, you need to select dialogue branches in the following order: 1-4-1-1-1, or 1-4-2-2-2 (there are several such sequences, so you can experiment).

Convince him to stay without choosing the dialogue options shown above, for example, do this: 1-1-1-2-3-2 (if you have a Science skill of 60, do it in this order: 1-1-1-2-3-1-1). There are also several such dialogue options.

Dean will ask us to turn on the holograms to protect him. The holograms are activated from terminals. The first terminal is located like this: where  Dean  spoke to us, we see a door. Open it and go down the stairs, where we see a terminal on the table. Activate it and turn on the spotlight.

The second terminal is a little more difficult to find. Enter the  Ruined Cafe building  (marked on the previous map). Go up to the second floor. Enter the room with the open door and exit through the green door. Careful not to fall, crawl along the ledge into the hole in the wall on the left. We see a similar terminal, enter it, and turn on the spotlight. Afterwards, talk to  Dean  and choose the first dialogue option. We can persuade him to stay if we have Repair = 30, Barter = 20, or Speech = 80. Alternatively, we can simply choose the second-to-last dialogue option, "If you don't do this, I'll go shut off the Holograms now." All dialogue options have the same effect, but it's best to choose 1, 2, or 3, as the extra experience never hurts.

Mixed Signals

Given by:  Father Elijah.

Reward:  700 XP.

Talk to Christina near the fountain and recruit her as a partner (dialogue line: "I think we should travel together"). Follow the map to  Puesta del Sol North , the same place we went with  Dean Domino . Now we have two options:

If you have Repair 60, simply click on  the Electric Box  and select "[Repair 60] Jury-rig the circuit breaker."

If you don't have this skill, you'll need to find three fuses ( Electric Box Fuse ).

Collect all three fuses and select "[Items required] Fix the circuit breaker using parts." Everything is fixed, and the door is open.

Enter the opening door and pay attention to the wall. There will be an arrow on it indicating the location of the intercom that makes the collar beep. Shoot this intercom.

Go down the stairs, destroying another intercom along the way (an arrow on the wall will also point to it).

Open the door and turn right. Descend the stairs into the toxic cloud, see a white arrow, and go there ( be careful  – there are four bear traps behind it, but it's the shortest route). There's also a bypass on the right. Soon you'll see a staircase leading upward. Climb up and turn left (don't turn right under any circumstances, or your partner will explode). Go to the door with " Utility " written above it. Enter and open another door. There will be an Automatic Rifle lying near the cabinets  –  pick it up, and loot all the cabinets as well. The cabinet with the very complex lock will contain the password for the terminal (take it too – we don't want to hack a very complex terminal). Click on  the Ventilation Control System computer . Turn on the ventilation and voila – the toxic cloud below has disappeared. You can go down there and explore. There's also a book called " Combat Manual of the Chinese Special Forces " – climb the stairs and you'll find it. You can only turn off the radio from the terminal behind the door with the complex lock (of course, there's a way around it). Go to the  Remote Maintenance Terminal . Christina will talk to you. You can choose any dialogue option, but I'd recommend 1-2. Turn on the terminal and select the only available option ( Transfer Control To This Station ). Then talk to Christina. Always choose the first dialogue option. The quest is completed, and you receive your reward – 700 experience.

Trigger the Gala Event

Given by:  Father Elijah.

Reward:  100 + 1400 = 1500 XP (experience points).

A simple quest (but you can get lost along the way). Basically, we need to go to the  Bell Tower building , turn on the console, and go to the already opened kahino. Go to the door in  Salida del Sol South , then follow the path shown in the video:

You can choose any conversation path. Once you activate the console, you'll be awarded 100 experience points and the "Having a Ball" achievement, while music and fireworks will begin to explode. Be careful: after you activate the console, the Ghost People will respawn, and you'll have to shoot them all again.

Go to the fountain and click on the grate near it. Select  "Proceed to the Sierra Madre Casino ." You'll find yourself in the casino and see your unconscious companions. Fall to the floor, get up, and receive 1400 experience. The quest is complete.

Put the Beast Down

Given by:  Father Elijah.

Reward:  Depends on your choice at the end of the quest.

In this quest, you need to turn on the light and decide  Dog's fate . Go to  the Sierra Madre Casino  (the door is near the casino door). Here we are met by security holograms. Their emitters can be in the most unexpected places.

After turning off the holograms, go to the door near which the intercom was shot in the video. Climb to the very top and turn off the radio. There's an autodoc next to the radio; it wouldn't hurt to heal up. Go down to the hologram. Its emitter is a little further away. Turn it off and calmly approach the room with the terminal. And here -  an Automatic Rifle !  Improved Sierra Madre Armor ! And some other little things. Loot it all and go to the terminal. Click on  "Unlock Electrical Closet Door" . Now go to the place where we turned off the second hologram. Open  the Electrical Closet door . Press the  Flip Switch  (the switch on the wall). Hurray, the lights are on! Now you can play in the casino (just remember to exchange money with the hologram cashier, but he only exchanges pre-war money). Two quests will also be added:  Curtain Call at the Tampico  and  Last Luxuries . Then, go through  the Lobby  to  Cantina Madrid . Take the  Sierra Madre Emergency Maintenance Key .

Shoot the intercom in the upper left corner and turn off the radio in one of the restrooms. You can play the  Dog Command Tape holotape , which will slightly change the rest of the quest. Return to the casino, to the place with the autodoc. There's a locked iron door nearby; use the key on it. Press  "Use Sierra Madre Emergency Maintenance Key to enter the Kitchen . "

Enter, and if you played the holotape,  Dog  will immediately start a conversation.

You can do whatever you want with him; there are many options. If you didn't play the holotape, run to  Dog  before he blows himself up and talk to him. Your reward depends on your choice. However, to get out, you'll still need to shut off three gas pipes.

Curtain Call at the Tampico

Given by:  Father Elijah

Reward:  1100 XP (experience points)

We exit into the Lobby and, horror of horrors, we see Ghost People there. They've made it here too! We kill them, climb the stairs to the second floor, and enter  The Tampico . Move forward (be careful, most radio intercoms can't be turned off). Right before the stage, take  Vera's Partipures and find a key in it. Dean Domino will come out. No matter how you talk to him, he'll still summon the hologram guards. Scoundrel! Oh well. We head to the Backstage Door (it's to the right of the stage) and open it with the key found in the sheet music. There's an emitter near the entrance, but it can only be turned off with 100 Repair, and it will only disable one hologram. Move forward, carefully examining the walls for radio intercoms and simple radios located on the tables (hint: access the  Ambient Audio Control terminal on the wall ; it will also disable the timer). I recommend saving before doing this. Go to Dean's Dressing Room and pick up  Vera's Backstage

Key on the table . Continue down the hall to  Vera's Dressing Room . Pick up the holotape "Dean Domino's "Saw Her Yesterday" Song" from the table, as well as the key underneath it. Carefully, avoiding the security holograms, climb up to the second floor with the spotlight. Click on the  "Holotape Projector"  and choose the first option. The guard holograms disappear, and holograms of the audience and Dean appear. Now go through the door opposite  Vera's Dressing Room ; it's now open. Talk to  Dean  and kill him. Now we need to escape the theater before our collar explodes. Once you reach the lobby, you will receive your reward and the quest will be completed.

Last Luxuries

Given by:  Father Elijah.

Reward:  1000 XP (experience points).

Here we need to find and rescue  Christina . Go through  the Suites door . There's only one emitter per hologram.

It's located like this: go to the bathroom and make sure to close the door. It's hanging on the wall; you can only disable it with a Repair skill of 75.

There are some weapons and supplies in the police station warehouse; check it out. Go to the quest objective and talk to  Christina . During the conversation, the quest ends. I also recommend healing at the AutoDoc and taking  Vera's dress .

Heist of the Centuries

Given by:  Father Elijah

Reward:  2000 XP (experience points)

We head to the casino exit. Right next to the exit, there's a terminal; download three songs from it. Return upstairs and talk to  Christina . Follow her to the door to  the Sierra Madre Vault ; she'll open the door. We go down the elevator. Open the door and approach the terminal. Use it to open the door and move on. Look around for radios; there are quite a few of them. Here's a video to help you get there: So, we reach the main door to the Vault and open it with the terminal. We go inside, but the door naturally closes, and we can't leave yet. We look to the left, and there's untold riches! Dozens of gold bars! We can't carry them all, even if we load them all up and go with an overload (you'll find out why a little later). We take enough bars so that we don't overload. We also look in the cabinet next to the table with the ingots; there's a lot of armor there.

To activate the main terminal, disable the Vault's security using the wall terminal next to the cabinet. Launch the main terminal and read the notes. Exit the terminal and  Elijah will speak to us . Talk to him; if you have 75 Hacking or 75 Stealth, you can use these conversation options.

When the conversation ends, open the door, kill the turrets, and Elijah.

Killing him will start a timer. Put away your weapon to run faster, and run as fast as you can to the exit! (This is why you can't be overloaded; we simply won't make it in time.) When

we click on the elevator door, we'll find ourselves near the fountain. The quest is complete, the DLC is finished.

You can go to any location, or you can return to the Mojave Desert.

You'll review the fates of all the DLC characters and find yourself back in the BOS bunker.
