Fallout: New Vegas Walkthrough -> Walkthrough (Part 1)
Fallout: New Vegas is the latest installment in the massive Fallout RPG series. The game's story takes you to post-nuclear Las Vegas, now called New Vegas. The protagonist isn't a Vault Dweller, but an ordinary courier on a mission to deliver an unusual package.
Halfway to his destination, he's ambushed and shot in the back. Naturally, the package is taken. A robot, having found him by chance, takes him to a doctor. He gets him back on his feet. As a parting gift, the doctor gives him a Vault jumpsuit and a Pip-Boy. Now a former courier, he embarks on a soldier's journey to discover the truth about the package and who shot him in the back.
At the same time, the city is plunged into a war between three groups.
The player will discover the fascinating world of post-nuclear America. Here, you'll encounter the paladins of the Brotherhood of Steel, the Enclave, and a variety of mutants.
When playing Fallout: New Vegas, you can choose your own path. However, the storyline remains the same for everyone.
START
When playing Fallout: New Vegas, the first quest is called "Ain't That a Kick in the Head ." The game itself begins with you waking up in Dr. Mitchell's house. You're injured. First, you need to create a character model for your main character. Then, go to the Vit-O-Matic to allocate stat points. It's best to prioritize dexterity and intelligence.
Then you'll have to answer Mitchell's questions. These will help you earn extra points. It's best to choose Talk, Repair, and Small Weapons. The first ability will allow you to complete a number of additional quests at the starting level. This will develop your character. Repair allows you to avoid spending money on repairing your own equipment. And Small Weapons will make Fallout: New Vegas easier to complete from the very beginning.
So, it's time to assign Traits. You can choose Trigger Discipline. It increases accuracy. Good Natured is a character trait that increases Medicine, Repair, Barter, Science, and Conversation skills. It will slightly reduce weapon proficiency, but you have the Guns ability, so don't worry.
Once you've finished creating your character and received your Pip Boy, you can get down to business. If you have a Science skill over 25, you can use the Chemistry Table to make Stimpaks. Then head outside.
INTRODUCING GOODSPRINGS
In this case, you need to memorize the locations that are useful to you. Dr. Mitchell's house is on a hill. The saloon and store are in the central part of town, next to the gas station. The school is to the east. Memorize the area, then go to the saloon and talk to Sunny Smiles.
During Sunny's conversation, broach the topic of survival. This will open the shooting tutorial. You can exit it at any time. Accept the tutorial and equip a rifle that's good at shooting small animals. When playing Fallout: New Vegas, you'll initially shoot bottles. Afterward, suggest Sunny practice on animals. You'll find Gecko near the water sources near the town. Follow Sunny and listen to his instructions.
Together with Sanii, you'll find three Gecko habitats. Once you've destroyed them, speak with your partner. She'll offer a quest. She'll teach you how to make Healing Powder. To complete this quest, head back to town. Head southwest and find an abandoned school. There, you'll see a dried-up tree trunk. Dig up the roots of the plant growing near the tree.
You'll find the second ingredient for making the Powder in the cemetery northeast of town. First, kill the enemies there, then find the tree in the far corner of the cemetery. You need Brok's Flower. Return to Sania at the marker. She'll tell you how to make the Powder. Start at the bonfire and choose to make the Powder. That's it, the quest will be complete.
Fallout: New Vegas walkthrough – talk to Sunny again. She'll tell you to talk to Trudy, the saloon owner. Go to the saloon.
There you'll see Trudy arguing with a thug. After he leaves, ask her about the argument. She'll mention Ringo, the prisoner, who's holed up in the gas station. She'll also give you some interesting information about the men who shot you.
BROKEN RADIO
When you ask about the people who shot at you, Trudy will say her radio is broken. You should offer to help. If you have a Repair skill of 20 or higher, fix it. This will earn you fame in town, +25 experience, and 50 caps. If you have a Barter skill of 25 or higher, you'll get another 25.
Then you need to stop by the store and talk to Chet. It's better to sell the pistol and buy a Magnum. It's more powerful. Buy some ammo for it too. By the way, you cleaned out Mitchell's house, right? You can sell all the junk now.
So, head to the gas station and talk to Ringo about the Powder Gang or the Caravan game. You can earn some caps with it before moving on. If you choose to help the Powder Gang, Ringo will tell you that you need to get the city's support. It's easier to start with Sunny Smiles. So, the Fallout: New Vegas walkthrough continues.
GHOST TOWN SHOOTOUT
To guarantee the town's support, you don't necessarily need to talk to everyone. It's enough to speak with Sunny in the saloon, or with Trud if you have a conversation skill of 25 or higher. You should also talk to Mitchell. After the conversation, go to Ringo and tell him everything is ready. Sunny will arrive soon and inform you that bandits are approaching the town. Head to the saloon, where a crowd of people is already gathered.
The Powder Gang will be arriving soon. You'll have to shoot. You can avoid the battle and instead find cover somewhere to shoot occasionally. When the fight is over, loot the corpses. Armor is useful if there are no civilians or New California Republic gang members nearby.
THEY WENT IN THAT DIRECTION
Talk to the townspeople if you want to complete the side quests. Once you've completed the secondary quests, you can follow the broken road south toward Primm.
Along the way, you'll encounter Barton Thorne. He'll tell you his girlfriend is in trouble. She's been taken by Geckos. To solve the problem, head southwest to the fallen tower. When you climb the hill in Fallout: New Vegas, you'll encounter monsters. Kill them and climb higher. There's a group of Geckos there. After they're gone, avoid the traps and approach the edge of the hill. There will be crates, a refrigerator, and a chair. Take the loot and head back. Barton thanks you for getting rid of the monsters but says he wanted to take the loot himself. You'll have to kill him. Take the pistol from his corpse and go to Primm. If you're wearing Powder Gang armor, remove it in time to avoid being killed.
PRIMM
You'll enter an area cordoned off by NCR troops. Head south and find a tent. Lieutenant Hayes will be there. Talk to him. He'll tell you about life in Primm. Then head west to the bridge. Cross it and you'll enter the town. Beware of the mines!
Bandits are roaming the city streets. Kill them, then go to Vicki's building and speak with Johnson Nash. He'll tell you about the package and give you some more information. Nash will tell you that Deputy Beagle knows something about "the man in the checkered suit." But he's currently being held hostage at the Casino. Go there. The Fallout: New Vegas walkthrough continues.
You'll see many well-armed criminals in the building. You can kill them all by luring them out one by one. If you've also leveled up your hacking and have lockpicks, you can break open the door next to the entrance and enter the kitchen. You'll find Beagle there. This way, you'll have fewer loot drops. You can try to persuade Beagle to help, but he'll die quickly due to his poor shooting. It's best to let him go and deal with the criminals yourself.
Don't rush the leader right away at the big room. It's better to lure out the enemies one by one. When you're done clearing out the casino, return to Vicky's. Beagle will be in the corner. Ask him about the guy who shot you. You can also pick up a quest from him to find a new sheriff for Primm. Sell any excess items and move on.
Our road leads to Novac. Follow it southeast. You'll need to pass through Nipton. It's home to the Jackal Gang and the Powder Gang. There will also be giant ants. It's best not to trust the girl. You'll meet her near Nipton. Her name is Jacqueline. She'll shoot you in the back if the opportunity arises. The Fallout: New Vegas walkthrough continues.
