The Destroyer

Terraria Wiki → The Destroyer

Destroyer is a boss added in update 1.1. It is the Hardmode version of the Eater of Worlds. It can only be summoned at night using   a Mechanical Worm. Unlike the Eater of Worlds, it can be summoned in any biome. In addition to its standard ramming attack, the Destroyer fires red lasers at the player from each of its segments. The lasers can pass through  platforms.

Since version 1.2, it may come to you at night, after the message: "You feel vibrations from deep below..."

Notes:

  • The destroyer's segments have red lights. When you attack one of these segments, the light goes out, and a Probe emerges   , firing a red laser at you.
  •  The probes are much more dangerous than the Destroyer itself, as they are difficult to hit.
  • The Destroyer doesn't split into parts like its Pre-Hardmode counterpart, the World Eater. It also shares a single health bar across all segments.
  • In Expert Mode, the Destroyer's head deals massive damage.
  • Drops from the Destroyer fall from the segment that was closest to you.
  • If you don't manage to kill the Destroyer during the night, it will disappear during the day.
  • Immune to all Debuffs
  • The Destroyer is longer than the World Eater.
  • If you received the message "You feel vibrations from deep below..." at night and you summoned a Destroyer using   a mechanical worm before the first one appeared, you will fight two Destroyers.
  • When the Destroyer has less than 30,000 health remaining, it begins firing lasers at triple speed.
  • If you summon the Destroyer and manage to reach the end of its body, you'll see it hanging in the air, coiled, and then unfolding from this "ball." It's very advantageous to attack it, as before the boss unfolds, this "ball" contains many segments, and all of them will take damage simultaneously.
  • The Destroyer shares the same musical theme as the Brain of Cthulhu.
  • This is the only boss whose damage is more than doubled in Expert mode. For example, the Destroyer's head deals 70 damage in Normal mode, but 280 in Expert mode. That's a 4x damage increase.
