Cave flora

Mushroom Tree - A new tree species added in the Underground update. Found only in caves, they do not grow or reproduce. In the Reign of Giants DLC, they replace regular mushrooms on the surface during the full moon.

Flowers of Light are new plants that grow in caves. They grow in the Mushroom Tree biome and glow.

Cave Banana Tree - A ruin plant introduced in the "It's Not a Rock!" update. It grows Cave Bananas, which can be harvested. The tree cannot be replanted.

Fern - A cave analogue of flowers, except that it is impossible to weave a wreath from it.

Cave Lichen - Found in ruins. It can be harvested to drop lichen, which restores health and hunger but reduces sanity. It cannot be dug up.

Mysterious Plant - Found in ruins and caves. It's actually a special bait used by the Deep Worm to attract creatures. The fruit cannot be picked from the plant, but the berry can be obtained by killing the worm.

Algae - A ruined plant analogue that grows near muddy ponds.

Reign of Giants

Cactus - Found in large quantities in deserts. While harvesting it causes damage, the cactus meat restores sanity. Cannot be dug up.

Chestnut Birch - A standard tree in the expansion. Found in clearings and deciduous forests. Produces birch chestnuts instead of cones.

Tumbleweed - Appears in deserts and begins bouncing around the world. It tries to avoid the player. When untangled, it drops 3 random items, with a chance of dropping very rare ones.

A hollow tree stump is a raccoon's habitat. It is found in deciduous forests.

Glommer Flower - Blooms on the statue during the full moon. Picking this flower will cause a Glommer, a strange insect, to follow you.

Shipwrecked

Vining Bush - Grows in the jungle. When chopped with a machete, you'll get a vine.

Bamboo Thickets - Grows in the jungle. Chopping them with a machete yields bamboo.

Palm Tree - A tree found on beaches. When chopped down with an axe, you'll get logs and palm fronds, and larger trees will also drop a coconut or two.
