Wall of Flesh and its loot

Terraria Wiki → Wall of Flesh and its loot

Summoning:

To summon it, you must throw a Voodoo Doll into the lava while in the Netherrealm. The Wall of Flesh will not spawn if the guide is already dead. When the guide is sacrificed, the Wall of Flesh will appear from the nearest edge of the world and instantly inflict the "Terrorized" debuff on all players, which lasts until the death of the players or the Wall of Flesh.

Attack Types:

The Wall of Flesh has several attacks. First of all, there are the so-called "Hungry Ones" attached to the Wall. As the Wall of Flesh takes damage, the Hungry Ones begin to attack more powerfully and their defense increases, so it is advisable to kill them first. After the Wall of Flesh takes a certain amount of damage, the Hungry Ones detach from the Wall and begin to pursue the player like flying monsters. The Wall of Flesh also attacks by firing lasers from its eyes. The lower the HP of the eyes, the faster and more powerful they fire. The Wall releases leeches from its mouth, which pursue the player.

Attempts to Escape:

If you try to escape the Wall, it will grab you with its tongue and pull you toward its mouth, dealing heavy damage and immobilizing you in the process. Approaching the Wall of Flesh from behind will also result in death. Using a magic mirror will cause you to die, with the message "<player name> attempted to escape."

To kill the Wall of Flesh, you must reduce the health of its two eyes and mouth to zero, out of a total of 8000. The eyes and mouth share a health meter, so shooting any of the three will deplete the Wall of Flesh's health. The Wall of Flesh (except for the two eyes and mouth) is "transparent" to weapons, and shooting the Wall itself will not deplete its health. Unlike other bosses, the Wall of Flesh does not despawn if you die. It will remain alive until it crosses the edge of the map. Attempting to summon another Wall of Flesh before the previous one dies will simply destroy the Voodoo Doll and kill the guide, if present.

Since the boss fight takes place in the nether realm, it's recommended to use Water Walking and Obsidian Skin potions to avoid damage if you fall into lava. Also recommended are Speed potions, Spectral Boots, a Grappling Hook or Ivy Whip, a Cloud in a Bottle, and a Gravity/Feather Potion (optional) for increased maneuverability. An Iron Skin potion is also helpful.

How to defeat the Wall of Flesh?

The first way to defeat the boss is to build a straight path on the nether realm, have a Phoenix Blaster, and 300-400 Meteorite or Silver Bullets.

The second way is to use a Star Cannon: you'll need about 130 Stars, at least 20 Defense, and 400 Health; building a path is optional.

The third method is to use Water Shot or Demon Scythe. You'll need at least 20 mana potions and preferably a mana flower. The road is optional, but with the road, you can kill the Wall of Flesh in a minute.

The fourth method is to defeat the Wall of Flesh. For this, you'll need:

  • Beehive
  • Health potion 2-3 pcs;
  • Iron Skin Potion 1pc;
  • Obsidian Skin Potion 1pc;
  • Jet boots

And of course, build a row of wooden platforms (500 each). Summon a Wall of Flesh and hit its mouth with a Bee Launcher. In 1-3 minutes, you'll win and enter Hard Mode.

When the Wall of Flesh is killed, it drops loot in a closed 9x9 square made of demonite bricks (in a corrupted world) or crimtane bricks (in a crimson world). This prevents items dropped from burning in the lava, saving the player a lot of frustration.

After defeating this boss, your world will enter Hard Mode, and you'll face stronger enemies. Afterward, two diagonal lines of Hallow and Corruption will generate on your map in the shape of an "X" or "V." They run from the Nether to the very top of the map, generating Underground Hallow and Underground Corruption biomes.

It's best to do Night's Edge or the Demon Scythe before defeating the Wall of Flesh, as weapons that deal less than 40 damage will deal very little damage (less than 20) to Hardmode mobs.
