Skeletron

Skeletron was the most powerful boss in the game before update 1.1. To find him, you need to find the dungeon.

At the entrance, you'll see an Old Man , with whom you need to initiate a conversation. If you initiate the conversation during the day, the Old Man will say "If you want to enter the dungeon, come at night" in the conversation menu, and nothing else will happen. However, if you initiate the conversation at night, you'll have to agree (since version 1.0.5). After agreeing, the Old Man will transform into Skeletron, who will attack you. After finishing the battle and defeating the boss, the player can enter the dungeon.

In Expert Mode, Skeletron has 8800 health + 3200 HP per player in the world. Additionally, if one of his arms is lost, he begins attacking with ghostly skulls. After losing the second arm, the frequency of skull attacks doubles. The head can inflict a Bleeding debuff on the player, and the hands can inflict a Slow.

Initially, the head has a large defense bonus, but this bonus disappears after the hands are destroyed.

When its health drops below 50%, it begins to release homing skulls. The skulls' targeting vector is small, making them easy to dodge. The lower the Skeletron's health, the more frequently it attacks. When the skulls fly far from the player, they disappear.
