Game Tips (and Tricks)

One Bucket

No need to lug around a lot of buckets of water/lava/honey (especially honey, since you have to run quite a distance to get it). It's all simplified with one simple design.

Bubble platforms with honey

After switching to Hardmode  , the Party Girl  sells  Bubble Blocks . The player character can pass through these blocks, but they still hold liquids. We stock up on blocks, build an arena for the desired boss, and then simply pour honey into it once using the  One Bucket method , which we already know. :) For a better result, this trick requires a little more effort, namely,  a Swimmer's Potion.

Fast farming of essences of light/darkness

If you need essences, you've already killed the Wall of Flesh, right? So, you have that long platform across half of Hell that you painstakingly built without wearing the Slime King's Expert Axe and dodging those annoying Lava Slimes, because only true guys don't wear that Axe. But that's not the point now.  Gold / Platinum —you need a constant supply of one or the other (same with  iron/lead ), as well as rubies. What's the point? It's all very complicated. Craft crowns, lots of crowns.

Result: Gold/Platinum Crown.

Next, run to Crimson/Distortion, craft Slime King summoners on the altar.

Result: Slime Crown

Let's say you need essences of light. Descend into Hell and go straight  under the Holy Lands in Hell , then summon slimes and beat them up there. ???, PROFIT!

I collected 67 Light Essences from 5 Slime Kings, but 5 summoners isn't the limit for a strong player like you.

Convenient Fishing

When doing fisherman's quests, always take a safe/piggy bank/money trough with you. As soon as you catch a quest fish, put it in one of the above-mentioned storages and continue fishing; this way, you'll be able to catch more quest fish. In the room with the NPC himself, create several chests, put all the quest fish in them, and then simply give them to the fisherman when he asks for them.

Growing Herbs for Potion Brewing:

Note: This section of the guide is more of a tip than a trick, because I know many people don't use it.

When playing in Normal mode, potions are often unnecessary, or at least minimally needed. However, in Expert mode, the lack of a potion buff is unforgiving; a buff is always needed. Therefore, this section of the guide will focus on herbs for different types of potions.

1. Clutches

Clutches are needed directly for growing flowers; they are purchased from  the Dryad  under certain conditions (table below).

Name Terms of sale

  • Clutch for the flower of the day - The Royal Slug has been killed in the world.
  • Laying for moonflower - The Queen Bee has been killed in the world.
  • Glowing Root Clay - The Eye of Cthulhu has been killed in the world.
  • Dead grass mat (Crimson) - The world was generated with Crimson The Brain of Cthulhu was killed.
  • Dead Grass Laying (Distortion) - The world was generated with Distortion. The World Eater was killed.
  • Masonry for water leaf - Skeletron has been killed in the world.
  • Clutch for yeast flower - Skeletron has been killed in the world.
  • Firebloom masonry - The Wall of Flesh has been killed in the world.

2. Staff of Grass

An essential item for this craft, it allows you to harvest planted plants, increasing the amount of seeds and grass dropped from that plant. The staff can also be used only on fully grown plants, meaning you no longer have to carefully poke each blade of grass. This wonder can be found in  jungle shrines  and  jungle boxes .

3. Alchemy Table

An equally important item, you should brew all potions on it, as  the Alchemy Table  has a 33% chance to save an ingredient when crafting a potion. This useful thing can be found in  the dungeon , so go for it!

4. Other information

Dead Grass, in my opinion, is the most difficult plant to obtain. Seeds of this grass can only be obtained during a full moon and a Blood Moon. To avoid having to watch the moon, but to see the moon phase in text form, you need to complete the fisherman's quests so he gives you a Sextant, which constantly displays the moon phase.

The Potion of Thorns requires a Worm's Tooth  to craft, which only drops in the Warp world. There's no Crimson alternative, so is this an advantage for the  Warp world ?

Another example:  the Potion of Rage  is crafted from fish caught in the Crimson and increases critical strike chance by 10%. The Warp alternative, the Potion of Wrath, is crafted from fish caught in  the Warp and increases damage by 10%.

In my opinion, increasing constant damage is better than crits because it's more consistent, and I'm generally more of a damage-focused player than random double-damage boosts, so I think  Warp  wins here again.

We summon a solar eclipse before killing Plantera.

For the eclipse, you need  a Solar Plate , which is crafted from 8  Solar Plate Fragments , they are dropped by  Lizards  and  Flying Snakes , and for them to spawn outside the temple, you need to clear the walls of the jungle temple, approximately as in the screenshot.

Place a Water Candle somewhere nearby, drink a bottle  of Battle Potion for Golem  health  , and that's it, farm.

P.S. Of course, I've already been in my temple in the screenshot, but this method works perfectly.

Destroyer? Easy!

Build a room with some buffs high above the ground (so the boss can't reach you).  Buy  a Cannon   and several hundred  Cannonballs  from  the Pirate . Point  the Cannon  upward, at a slight angle (right-click), and make a hole in the room for the cannonballs to pass through (3 blocks).

A problem arises –  the Probes that fly out when damaged. Although the cannonballs won't produce many, it will be much easier if you get a Cloud Rod beforehand  . In that case, simply place two clouds with the rod as high as possible above the hole the cannonballs are passing through and stand in the rain itself. This way,  the Probes  will take pretty good damage, and maybe even die altogether.

Be careful: if you're killing the Destroyer for the first time in your world and aren't confident in your abilities, don't place Cloud Rod clouds over the Destroyer itself . You simply won't fend off  the Probes. I say this because I know how tempting it is to place a cloud over the boss. Good luck.
