A first aid kit is a universal, single-use medical kit. It can treat injuries of various types and severity, including wounds, soft tissue bruises, thermal and chemical burns, and various types of poisoning. It is always popular among stalkers.

An army first aid kit is a specialized medical kit for providing first aid to wounds on the battlefield. It contains blood clotting agents based on Menadione, painkillers, antibiotics, and immune stimulants. It also includes a basic surgical kit for removing shrapnel and bullets. A standard army first aid kit: less commonly found in the equipment of "duty soldiers."

The Scientific First Aid Kit is a medical kit designed specifically for researchers working in the Zone. It contains supplies for both the healing of mechanical injuries and the prevention of radiation sickness. Unlike other kits, this one contains Vikasol, Batilol, and S-naphthyzine.

A bandage is an aseptic bandage used to stop bleeding and prevent infection. It can be used to bandage a wound for normal bleeding and to tie off an artery for arterial bleeding.

The anti- radiation drug "Mexamine" is widely used in the Zone. When administered, it causes constriction of peripheral blood vessels and oxygen deprivation, which in this case serves as a preventative and treatment for radiation sickness. It is well tolerated by the vast majority of people; in some cases, mild nausea, dizziness, pain, and, less commonly, vomiting may occur.
