To place an Eternia Crystal on a pedestal, there must be enough space to the left and right of it for the Ancient Army portals to spawn on both sides.

Old One's Army is an event that incorporates some Tower Defense elements. To summon it, purchase an Ancient Crystal and a stand from the innkeeper, dig a 150-200 block area, place the stand in the center, and insert the crystal.

Monsters appear from Mysterious Portals on both sides. The player must defend the crystal for 5/7 waves. The crystal has 1000/3000 HP. Construction and destruction of terrain are prohibited during the event. For additional defense, you can use wands, canes, and staves of Explosive Trap, Lightning Aura, Ballista, and Flameburst (Blast-Firespitter or Flamespitter), which consume 10 units of Aetherian Mana per tower (the first 10 drop from a crystal at the start of the event). Mana is dropped randomly from mobs, one at a time, and a certain amount can drop per wave: Waves 1-3 drop 20 units, subsequent waves 30 units. The mana itself disappears from your inventory after the event ends.

In Hardmode (after killing the Golem), Defender's Medals drop per wave as follows:

  • 1 wave - 0 medals.
  • Wave 2 - 0 medals.
  • 3 wave - 1 medal.
  • 4th wave - 3 medals.
  • Wave 5 - 11 medals.
  • Wave 6 - 25 medals.
  • Wave 7 - 60 medals.

WHERE TO FIND THE TAVERNKEEP

The Tavernkeeper is an NPC merchant. He initially appears as an Unconscious Man if the World Eater or the Brain of Cthulhu is defeated in the world. Once the conditions are met, he can appear randomly anywhere on the map. He differs from other merchants in that he sells some goods for a special currency - Defender's Medals. Upon encounter, he gives 5 of these medals.

The Unconscious Man is not detected by the Lifeform Analyzer:

Unconscious Man in the Forest.


Tips:

To make finding him easier, you can use a Hunter's Potion.
